  1. The makita cordless is the one to go for,you get 2 batteries, approx 20 minute charger(most clients are cool if you need it),I can sharpen my finger teeth (8),twice per battery,so although an expensive machine,I would not be without it. The suplier of those discs offers a good discount if you buy 2 or more, they are double sided and very good quality.
  2. I use a cordless makita grinder, and diamond discs, there is a company who sell them at a seriosley reasonable price & very good double sided quality too, they are in another post on here, will try & get the link. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/17674-diamond-disc-stumpy-teeth.html Here you go,they are a great company!!!!
  3. Sound like he had it coming, good on the marines for looking after him,and reducing the paperwork & expense in the process.
  4. Very nice bowl, workmanship looks very good too.
  5. £16 round here,it is expensive,but I will stick with it.
  6. Take it away for nowt,That will feed the average stove for a week at most! If you realy like doing the cutting & splitting thing then go for £5.
  7. I am time spent with the small echo top handle,it has done a good bit of work, one brake band (I do snap them on when a cut is done, sometimes on the run down on awkward going to hand grab it for speed cuts). cracking little saw in it's own way,and the handle configuration is great, albeit be aware on a reach out, the kick back potential is enhanced if your left hand grips on the rear end of the swept back side handle .It's true!
  8. Over what timescale,This last year?....its all speculation and bunkem without defined source and proof. Waste of space speculation so far, that wont boil my brain.
  9. One came down round my way a few weeks ago, maybe 1km from where I was, clipped the willows on a nose dive into a lake, the dog whent nuts & I was oblivious until a passing military chopper started doing circles over the crash zone. sad loss of life. BBC News - Police release details of Essex lake plane crash pair
  10. Any one here old enough to have gone to work on a bantam? Go on own up! Or a c15!
  11. Nice bike to ride the ccm's,early ones with a rotax engine such as yours,a widely used lump, and vibrant too! nice looking bike.
  12. Like the body shape, the head is ok but a bit of tweaking might improve it,I would get a coat of something on it before it starts to quack! I will get my coat....
  13. I cant quote him,but try working round the circumference, with the maul following it,as against trying to split the whole ring along its radius.bit like trying to make a twenty pence piece out of a ten pence! This often makes the splitting of large or tough rings easier.
  14. Buy a spare chain to check against,or run it for a few minutes of gentle cutting to see if it beds in.If it persists take it back to the dealer.
  15. I had a firestorm in red too,gas flowed etc, what a lovely engine they have! Just sold my xr650,that had a lot of engine work done, giving just under 70bhp at the rear wheel....that was fun too,now only one bike left,an old ariel nh 350,1952. will get a pic up when I get a minute.
  16. TW need to use a deeper headed bolt, not a shallow one. I even flatten the small dome on the end of the torx bit so the spline sits deeper Quote. Thats about the top & bottom of it!
  17. Yep,those star heads are a right inadequate pain, you did well to get that out Dean, feel for you!
  18. You will be able to split this with a splitting axe, best done green, the grain can spiral a bit, which can be a bit awkward at times.
  19. If you have done your bit you will find it a breeze, just take your time & concentrate on safety aspects, you will be fine!
  20. Thats a fantastic old pollard!
  21. No mate, change of rural rummage, now mooching about in the totham's,not so many webbed feet, just a tendancy towards bucked teeth....
  22. Thanks Tommer,I have cleaned it up in prep for the next bit,(no spark).
  23. Thanks zzr,thats a great forum.
  24. Managed to find this much; junior 1952 10,4kg,45cm bar. 2.0hk/4000rpm 76cc 39200made Also (I kid you not),they sold an attachment that converted it to...............an outboard boat engine, will try & get a pic!
