  5. Hi Jon merry xmass to you . The iPad 2 is excellent it's one of the best gadgets I have every brought .make sure y get the modle with wfi and 3G so then you can always get Internet I get my Internet from O2 that's a tenner a month . You will need to go to an O2 store and pick up the little sim they provide for the iPad . I paid out right for mine as added up the cost of a contract and it was masses more . The prices for iPad are set by apple so the shops cannot put the price down I found this out when I was doing my price comparison some shops offer extra bits to go with it . All the best littletree:thumbup:

  10. Hi there when I first started up I did do a few leaflet drops but I chose the time carefully to do the drop them through the door and I did not use leaflets . I useed my postcard sized business cards really well made on thick card and I did the dropping myself I chose a time to drop them when the doormats would be empty from all the other rubbish going through the letter box so then mine would be picked up on it's own and there was a better chance of my card being pinned up on there notice board . I got my cards from vista print by the 5.000 and they were really cheap to buy and I had the design and photos of my choice the way I wanted them as it's all done online. I have not now had to do any drops for the last year . I found I would deliver around 80 cards to get one job from it so with the cards costing about 3p each it was worth it . I found people did keep my cards as many months later I get people ringing me and they said they had kept my card from when it was dropped . I found also in later drops that selective dropping got a better hit rate when I droped to houses that looked like they needed tree care . Littletree:thumbup:
  11. Sadly that's about right at the moment Not much more Littletree

  16. Hi there I did the same thing to mine a while back with my silky I did replace mine but it was worse then yours . Its easy to do a bridge change you will be able to order up another one and may well have it by the next day if you ring them first thing in the morning . Give Justin a ring at Jones he will sort it for you . If he has not one in stock try HB they are quick to deliver as well if you ring first thing in the morning . All the best Littletree:thumbup:
  17. Hi if it was me in your shoes I would go about it like this . For your own and the horses safety for me to carry out the work I would need some form of barrier between us Otherwise I could not do the work . So I would ask the customer to make the arera safe for me ie installing the temp fence at your chosen distance . This way you relive yourself from any problems if the horses tangle with the fence as you did not install the fence the customer did so it will be down to him if the horses get injured with the temp fence . All my customers are more then happy To take steps to make my work sites safe if the cannot make it safe and I cannot then I don't do the work it keeps things really simple Hope this helps Littletree:thumbup:
  18. So far I have been very lucky with all my customers and have had all payments on the day of the completion of my work . Only once did I ever have a 6 week wait for my money .I did get it in the end but they went on my not ever to go back again list . Littletree:001_smile:
  19. Hi there sometimes it's not the sales patter that will keep them coming back for more and it's not allways even the price either . If your customers really like you and the service you give them from the first contact with them to the wood being delivered to them they will become your customer for years to come. All the best littletree:thumbup:
  20. Will I don't have a Santa coming to me on xmass day ,so I decided to buy myself an iPad Love it Happy xmass to all of you Littletree:thumbup:
  21. Hi there there is many ways for companies to save money . Advertising can be the biggest money drain . Post card size business cards are much better than the small ones people notice them more and will pin them up on there notice boards rather then them getting lost in there wallet . Rather than expensive adds in mags and papers go for all the local shops it costs from 50p to £1 a week to have your add in the windows. In villages the notice boards are all free for the placing . I laminate my ones for out door use Make sure your postcards all ways go with you every person you meet is a business opportunity waiting to be had . Any place you go to eat give them a stack of cards to display free advertizing for you And most places you give custom to will let you leave cards with them . If you can get rid of any finance agreements your company has it's a money drain and you will always be worrying to meet the repayments and your pricing to your customers will always reflect this . Using self employed subbies can be more cost effective then having permanent staff but it does swing in roundabouts . Always bulk buy oil and supplies get an account with one of the main suppliers it will save you big bucks . Don't buy cheap equipment it won't last and will always land up on the rubbish heap .keep your equipment well maintained as you don't want to loose money with it braking down out on your job . KIS keep it simple This alone will save you loads And keep you smiling Hope this helps littletree:thumbup:
