  2. I doubt very much that the insurance will pay . She then might try going for you maybe in the small clams if she really wants to be plan stupid She will most lightly loose big style you did your part of the agreed work you put in the hedge and it was live when you put it in . Open and shut case she paid for a live hedge to be put in and your expertees and your time to do it .she paid the bill on completion of the work Some places garentee a tree for a year if they plant it for you and if it fails they will replace it .you have gone over and above your duty in offering 2 years later to replace the dead parts . Don't get hood winked into giving any money back All the best littletree
  3. Wicked thanks for all your nice posts:001_smile: . I really loved doing that tree very much it was a real pleasure to do it for them even though it would of been better down they liked the tree there and I was really pleased to be able to it a second chance clean it up and give it some care and attention . I got it all back to nice new wood and give it a good shape on top so if we get any new growth from it it should look ok I have to restore lots of trees like that. I really love that type of work i love the de iveying and the dead wooding and doing the trees that are so covered in ivy you would not think there was a tree under it I always give 100% to each tree and am really very happy to show a pic of my work . 5. Hi dog tag thanks for reply:001_smile: it is always a hard one when they don't want what sometimes is best for it .but now at least all the dead is off and it's tidy and that is exactually what the customer asked me to do for them , they were very happy with the result If I had said no they would of only got someone else in to do the same thing And paid them instead . All the best with your job too. Thanks littletree:thumbup:
  6. Well done you will soon be working soon . There is lots of work on hear to be had Good luck and enjoy Littletree:thumbup:

  10. Hi Steve glad you like it I am looking forward to going back to see it when all the leaves come back . I get real delight with every tree I work on I really enjoy giving a really sad looking tree that's full of dead wood and ivy a second chance . My customer loved it Littletree:thumbup:
  11. Hi all this is a picture of my before and after pic of my work today . This tree had masses and masses of dead wood so I cleaned it up and took it back to new wood and have tried to give it a nice shape for when the leaves all grow .
  12. That sounds great I have 1 free week next week before starting another rook work contract over in Swansea so will give him a ring tomorrow Littletree:thumbup:
  13. No not illigle but any shape or form . Best practice is always 2 hands but one is no problem at the extremities of a branch it's designed to be able to do this Always a difficult one when working for someone else . The best wY round it is to just say ok no problem and keep him sweet, as he gets to know and like you ,before you know it he will just relax with you and his rules will become less of a sticking point. Sometimes when you are a new on a team the gaffa will seem quite hard and imposes all the rules in the book but as you settle in and he gets to know you and sees you do a good job and are safe then it just all works ok, the oil flows and things just get better for you . If you can get him on your side and go out of your way to please and do a cracking job then 99% of the time you will always be the winner in the end . Hope this helps Littletree:thumbup:
  14. Hi there I did it with greenlight training over in merthyer vale it cost 350 total that included the medical as well they run courses every week . The instructor was excellent and thought the whole set up was very well delivered . The phone number for them is 01443 740699 You can have up to 6 sponsors at any one time registered to you ie up to 6 companies you can work for at any one time if you find you need more they will just remove the ones you are not using . Each new company will need to have a copy of your medical and your D&A results After you have completed PTS you then can do the other courses ie look out etc Hope this helps Littletree:thumbup:
  15. I have had a great weekend over in Wales I did a weekend PTS course . I had been wanting that one for ages so really pleased . I am also doing my look out site warden ticket so the two tickets will it will open up all sorts of new avenues . Happy days Littletree
  16. I gave mine a good blast on a beech I had to thin and remove overhanging branches . I have got to be honest it is certainly quite slow to pick up the speed compared to my other 200t It defiantly has a little less drive . Maybe I will have to get it retuned but will see how it goes I Like the air filter and orange housing better on a 200t the orange housing on the 200t is much more robust then the new type of flimsy orange plastic they have used on the 2001 it feels like it would crack very easily compared to the 200t .defiantly will have to be more aware of it going up through the trees, I will have a better over all picture of it as time goes on . Right at this minute If I was buying it again today I would of gone for the 200t Again I lv the 200t and nothing as yet has beat it on performance Littletree

  19. Just made up my first batch of kindling ever , never tried it before but had some time on my hands with all the ice and snow this week . Ive made up little nets of it at £1 a net it will be interesting to see how they go . Hoping they will just sell out straight away . Will let you know the result . Littletree:thumbup:
  20. Hi there it's a hard one and every one of us that climbs has to start at the bottom .everyone starts of as a groundy for a company it gives you the time to learn your role and get good using the saws and equipment and helping the climbers and also seeing what the climbers actuall do and how they work within the tree , it's invaluable worth as much as gold , at the time you won't think so but it's only much later when you look back you will realise this . All the things you see the climbers doing will leave invaluable imprints in your mind you will see it day after day and later when you start to climb and cut you will have a basic frame work all ready there to help you . Every new climber is slow and it will take time to get to become a good climber .it's a long road but worth every bit of all your graft in the early stages Try and get in with a company as a groundy if you do well and work hard they will get you started climbing and it all goes on and on from there . If you have a new driving licence it will help you in a big way to get into a company if you get your B+E cat so you can tow and drive the bigger stuff as companies struggles to get drivers as a lot of the workforce are under 25 Good luck and all the best, go for it's well well worth it in the long run . Ps a thick skin is a must:thumbup:
