  1. Howdy "Potential" for some emergency call out work Tuesday for N Ireland, Scotland and far N England? (Cumbria, Northumberland & Durham) The Area could alter to Include N Wales, Cheshire, Lancs, Yorks & N Derbys dependant on Track of a small but punch-packing "meso" Low pressure system set to form from tomorrow roughly on the 50° latitude mark due South 400 mile off Greenland southernmost tip. This will deepen and track NE centering to expectedly run over the outer hebrides but will keep tabs on the path/trajectory and try updating here. Current strong convergence in the breeding ground for this ensures simple physics will follow suit but somewhere in the region of deepening to the mid 980mb is expected hence the tight wrap could render trees in full leaf to fail under duress of Force 7-8 and gusting to possible 9-10 or even 11(violent storm >70mph), albeit on Western facing sectors with no shelter. Winds will begin to substantially pick up in the latter half of Monday so stay tuned as it may simply blow a force 6 Strong breeze but their are huge convergences of temperature and atmospheric fluidity this time of year hence the alert. ta for now
  2. old cheap faithful .22 hw80 (hush: chrono >12ftlb)
  3. ageist its my birthday in the next couple of weeks tho so any prezzies,,,,, oh, 18,,,till I die
  4. Well all I can say folks is get used to it I think I`m on something of a roll having nailed the epic winter period prior to it happening and hinted on an early settled warm spring, thats 2-0 lol so i`m going for hat-rick in stating that very low base state angular momentum, little tropical convection and overall little westward trajection anywhere all points at continued High pressure static over or slightly east of the UK, possible eventuality of slight retrogression however can increase the risk of easterly breezes for the south lowering temps and bringing cloud etc. but little in the way of any Biscay disruption tends for no sign of any thundery activity spreading north, unlike the current unsettled weather in the western med. All in all a very dry settled start and although the rainfall, or lack of is a concern, the MJO phase could gain strength and with mid latitude westerlies then June could be another cracker. but its the remainder of summer thereon that for me looks a damp squib once a number of events such as Arctic blocking form? (or "squid" if you watch the IT Crowd lol) But thats not such a bad thing as stand pipes are not fun Enjoy it out their, i`m loving the dusk n dawn dog walks in the woods!
  5. I think steve`s on the right path with a specific time prior for a "chatmeet"? but then again a universal time say 8pm in UK/BST contravenes other time zones across the world when say North americans would be out at work and eastern members Australasia etc. would be in feather for the night so,,,? I`ll set myself a reminder for 8pm BST and pop in for "AT speakers corner"
  6. I`m not bigging them up (Oregon waipoua) but Jonesie`s listing them much cheaper than £183 Les? Clicky torn (lol) between more stretch/Giveway and comfort or over 80 knicker less? Thanks for the quick update steve but the plot thickens personally, regardless of you saying you would not buy `em? and besides,,,you know what us penny pinchin yorkshireman are like
  7. bumpety bump, any first impressions/review yet stevie? Imminent on buying some bottoms so I`m desperate for a heads up on whats worthy, value for £ etc etc.
  8. hmmm, swingometers slightly favoring Oregon then from stretch airs? the price is doing it for me but agreed its early days chaps.
  9. kinda related, but one of these has just come up on auction over @ fleabay but will end up way out of my price bracket but I`d still love one of these beasts but no doubt just about everyone reading this will agree that if these are in good nick they dont go for anything <£200?
  10. Pass one the liquid gold of wood my dearest desdemona that beist the blessed Hawthorn
  11. Nice one thanks mester (dunno why my search didn't find hence I wudn't have started this thread) close this one mods if you please?
  12. thanks fellas, btw the links shot? this works! but if its worth saving up longer then so be it with stretch airs
  13. as per title: any review on a recommended budget-sub£150 type C trouser for climbing? Not having any luck with views on these??? Stretch Air`s are unaffordable, much as i`d like, so any feedback`s most welcome
  14. cheers steve, beggars cant be choosers but if its felled just lying their < a minutes walk away from storage then cant say i`ve seen seasoned willow burning but its hardwood so,,,,
  15. some mature Willows (aargh) have been felled for the environment agency and were placed on an old railway embankment overlooking my small covered storage section in a builders yard so the convenient logging has been keeping me busy cutting rings and manual splitting. Timeframe for seasoned willow anyone? or fit for burning next winter if stacked now?
  16. good call Ian, Iv`e learnt that developing your technique in moving around the tree/work position etc. supercedes kit specs when starting out and I make do with someone elses bog standard willans seat harness(2 kit loops aaargh), marlow lines(weekly milking) & prussik, prussik rope strops, blunt silkies and stihl 181 rear handle but as long as I feel that I`m getting quicker moving around then kit upgrades can wait. I would suggest carbon graphite powder however for slicker krabs oh, and type C`s with as much stretch in them as poss!
  17. fellows: anyone know of a video link (no joy on u tube?) for the Art positioner? Its simply that I prefer Practical to Theory
  18. 15% petrol inflation rise in the last 12 months! here I live at the side of the motorway and seemed to notice less traffic flow at off-peak times? The combustion engines days are numbered vis-a-vis peak oil and bring on carbon neutral sustainable transport I say for quieter nites But I cant understand why customers moan at the price of firewood deliveries when its averaging >£1.30 for U/L and diesel £135.44 ????
  19. Hold onto that "despised" job mate! Afterall, one is better than none and this place is a lead balloon when it comes to full time employment figures with the whordes of redundancies/public sector job cuts etc? eg. neighbour told me today that the Jobcentre could not find him one single factory/warehouse labouring/manual work vacancy in our entire city today? sufficing to say that arb-work is literally non-existent? Dire
  20. Cant find it anywhere now on machinemart TL? I remember it had a red screw vice thingy built into a barrel? for around £105? A very good website here taupo btw:HERE most useful stuff is in the Forum!
  21. JCB Toughphone Pro-Talk review HERE I havent got a personal experience of this mind but I have found out that their are some BIG changes coming up regarding symbian and android platforms so maybe sim-free and/or PAYG is a failsafe at this current time until things settle down? dual core fones soon (gingerbread?) WTF?
  22. ,,,nothing like reviving an already maddening ultra-pear shaped thread (been a strange day on all parts come to think of it,,,lol)
  23. good start Nick, maybe time for yet another career-switch in these desperate desperate (yes, i meant that twice!) times to get flashy with photoshop, dreamweaver fireworks and the like for quality arb-esque? website creation?
  24. Site was pinging but that database error bizniss required a speculum quasi regrade genetic biopular sanctum shift Think Steve turned it off n back on so we are back cookin on gas
  25. Words barely comfort the bereaved in these kind of cases,,,, great sadness for his loss at such a young age,,, Another jolt to the industry and one more to make us all think and think again whilst we are up their or in any situ that warrants TOTAL care and to envisage the slightest thing possibly going wrong.
