  1. worth a speedread thru sheff repair shops sham?
  2. 2nd this Charlie , Substantial blocking of zonal Atlantic influence now in place to the NW of UK over Greenland, Iceland & GIN corridor area leaving us with a mixture of cool & eventually (starting thurs 17th) much colder airstream with possibly significant precipitation increasingly of snow along with harsh sub-zero temps overnight with possible daytime minima not exceeding zero centigrade throughout much of the British Isles. Models struggling with outcome after 7 day period but no milder conditions expected short term. Seasonal wevva at last
  3. Best `o luck mate but from a lifelong habitant i gotta say the current situation is that their is absolutely no work available whatsoever with an even bleaker future, Sheff's good for the retired only and when Cameron's `tories get in next year it will be final nail in the coffin of this once fine industrious city, Positive arnt I? NOT
  4. fair and valid point sky but, as always, the possibility to gain experience without a ticket just does not come by, period tell a lie,,,then again,,, i`ve been a voluntary worker for 5 months and got 30-31 in october
  5. Your 100% correct on that one "arbor" and anyone trying to break in thinking otherwise with '£' signs in their eyes should go elsewhere tail-between-their legs style. The personal terms for me are that a lifelong interest in meteorolgy & open outdoor spaces make me never wish to work indoors again, just hoping and praying that my 5 months voluntary work as a conservation worker will eventually get me the cs30-31 starters, but as long as I can continue to survive with the family on a 3rd world family income then all this is something I would do 5 days a week for nothing but the travel expenses and maybe a subsidy for food? The bottom line via someone from a very different background is: You can have a very tidy income, but no matter how many a figure salary it is - does it guarentee job satisfaction?
  6. Average figure for a few providers I have come across is around the £800-£850 mark for 5 day CS30&31 course including test fees. I cant tell you how similar my terms are compared to yours "ralphy" and I think we both share the view that IT is a dead duck with a bleak future and despite how difficult it is for the "arbo-men" on here at the moment its surely a short-term rough patch?
  7. Their are certainly more openings for the 18-25 year old bracket so the ageist term is most definately the case. As mentioned also, is the "round in circles" term which again I can personally vouch for as I have spent the last 4 month being passed onto numerous "Regeneration" groups for training people living in deprived areas only to end up being told that the funds cannot be provided as "the field is out of their experience" ? The LSC initially told me that as I was recently made redundant and had a genuine job offer should I gain the necessary NPTC`s then it would be provided? Anyone getting ANY funding deserves a pat on the back for how lucky they are. Those who deserve nothing as such are the people who milk the money from where its governed to really go, as I have shamefully discovered Of course, in the ideal world where one would be able to afford their own training fees then it wouldnt be such a problem?
