  1. ,,,Breaking story in that the Govt. has just put "on hold" former plans to sell the 15% quota of public owned forest,,, MTF, (lookin for a news agency link,,,)
  2. Very Gaia-esque response hama and completely warranted IMHO. We belong to all that nature is and never the opposite So on that cliche I`d like to abolish this eczema thats started growing on my legs?
  3. Simon, Did you get sorted? Low and behold I had a pruning job tomorrow (thurs 10th) and got a business advisory meeting tuesday 15th other than that I aint got jack (Sods law else I`d av offered, own transport kit job lot)
  4. lol, but the half time shows on now and its the black eyed pee wees I dunno,,,I wonder how much the BBC are payin Fox to show coverage when interest barely warrants showin it? better than forkin out for skysports tho i spose??? Well done to England winning in Taffland tho TB1
  5. Anyone up til the late hours for the final NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers in Texas? Gonna be a hard hittin battle with similar match-ups, Personal thoughts of GB shading it with the form of QB rodgers and the quality array of receivers plus a solid defence with Raji, Jenkins (kris jenkins bro) Matthews and Hawk plus Star CB Woodson who can get to Roethlisberger and Mendenhall quick? If GB can convert some 3rd downs rushing then eventually their corner covers Taylor and Mcfadden will loosen up giving space to Jennings and Driver,,, Roethlisbergers solid but the steelers are built more around a running game? All about Defence tonite and "who bends but dosnt break" Buds are on me AB-men!....til i`m out then its single malt,,lets go,,,,
  6. Excellent pics pete, Its just across the valley from me and the familys been but I havnt and they said it was interesting but a little scary due to the dark? lol My grandad was killed in the forge many yrs ago and many relatives have lost their jobs in what was once our proud worldwide renowned steel industry but the Magna is a great feature that shows some of our old heritage and the possible dangers of working in such conditions. sad point but a man was killed and another seriusly injured a week or 2 ago a minute up the road from the Magna at the re-cycling plant when an explosion blew a hole in the front wall.
  7. which Riva model spud? Initially we had out mind set on the vision midi then thought about the new View range, but I must say that although their very modern and jazzy looking, after seeing a Handol we dont want anything else but now! perhaps one year when we have carpets, doors and skirtings we might be able to afford one
  8. good post and replies Recent topic on similar grounds highlighted the plight that the semi-hardy Cordys have suffered. (I cant believe why in the 1st yr I failed to cover ours the temps were frequently below -10C?) Hope it rejuvenates as it was dug up and replanted following our house move and it weighed a ton!
  9. yeah, serious, channel 4 first shoiwn it with nicky horne presenting in 82,,, 29 yrs of sex drugs rock n roll n all i got to show for it is i still got a full head of hair n 8fingers? Jets are still hangin in their mr 6time Superbowl winner (AA)
  10. Maybe so steve but that 60 odd quid is much much more than that to me Whoever wins the Nyj v Pit encounter will face better opposition with GB aside from Chicago who look poor apart from their defence? Bitburgers going down good here
  11. Perfect opening drive from GB, Bears gonna av their work cut out on Defence? any cheeseheads on here???
  12. lol, you tell `em stevo, go gangreen
  13. Here we go then AA, May the best team win mate Steve, can you support us loud mouthed new yorker Jets seeing as your missus is a steAler? Oldest rivalry first with the cheeseheads at da Bears, Seen a funny odd story where a Viking fan is roasting a bear to support green bay? lol I`m hoping for the best for my team as its been a long 29 years since Channel 4 and nicky horne first started showing this wonderful sport and from where I picked up on which team i wanted to follow, So, the beers out, lets rock with the Championship games
  14. ,Reviving this thread as opposed to creating a new one,,,(will get substantial hits based on title!) Due to the current climate and severe lack of work (including none at all with vast competition for the scraps here in SYorks) Is it a worthy move undertaking PTS again? I got it at Derby years ago with Jarvis and now expired but anticipate at least sum demand for vegetation control/work on lines come spring/summer??? anyone members currently doing arb railwork?
  15. here we go JD,, Daily mail link Burgess Hill,,,
  16. My avatar says it all so i`d be delighted to correspond with any New England Patriot fans in regards to American Football AFC championship NYJets @ Pittsburgh next sunday with the NFC champ game seeing Green Bay Packers @ Chicagos Soldier Field winners meet in whats called the superbowl for you mear non understanders of such sport Dontcha jus love an obscure thread every now and then?
  17. Your in luck TreeW as just about all the UK may see a full week of dry conditions, Some suggestions were pointing to a return to much colder conditions again but this is not the case now as the orientation of the High pressure ridge off the Irish coast will meander around their for a good 7 days and cannot retrogress North anywhere from Greenland and east to Scandinavia due to continuous cyclogenesis or basically zonal flow west to east with no chance of pressure building therefore the high will be set giving us cool nights and slightly below average daytime temps with NW wind circulation and cloudy relatively settled weather. As mentioned in older threads,,,, Mr Winter is well and truly living on borrowed time now?
  18. Best read iv`e been treated to in months, thanks for this mdv. Rollercoaster of emotions to some degree but finalising with the conservation and restoration action is a good ending as long as it continues and fundings maintained. If I were offered a high wage packet for intensive logging I would have to think very hard and long as to wether I would feel happier with the money earned or skint yet humble with the forest? Much much more to life than money and everthing corrupt that it brings and like you monkey on my visit to relatives in CA it wont be beverley hills or disneyland and the like but a priority visit and night out camping in one of these intact, free from human, unspoilt, truly wonderful places that Gaia keeps watch over
  19. Interesting,,, Certain meterological pointers and teleconnections are indicating an early spring but seeing a physical aspect enforces this possible outcome further,,,, (Will try and simplify some data and post an early spring topic?)
  20. £££ subscription channels On the other hand the freesat/digital freeby channels were showing some american saw bandits playing late tues night on Fiver or Five USA??? keep looking ahead on qwest too but they never seem to put much in relation on?
  21. Horti-stores ltd Skelmersdale Lancs. (Ebay jetpilot37) 46cm X 59cm drawstring nets 500 @ 13p each, good for a small-time log packer like moi
  22. Dependant on age OWC, I swig approx 1 teaspoonfull of quality 7 seas oil every morning together with @ least 1000mg of Glucosemeine sulph containing 2KCL or another high quality source but Vegetable based as opposed to fish are thought to be 20% more efective? I started at the latter late20`s of my footballing days so been on it around 15yrs and I think my joints would be in a worse state not having any supplements so I`d say once you start make sure you dont stop and it will help maintain any tendons, joints & ligaments from further degredation regardless of what state their in. High strength blue label 450ml 7seas works out around £4.50-ish a bottle with 3for2 @ boots which lasts between 4&5 month take this with GS (£1 a bottle of 30 "bComplete" @poundland, 2 tablets containing 500mg each of 2KCL a day) available from discount Poundland, Netto,Aldi & Lidl stores avoid big chain brands Morrisons, tesco, sainsburys and chemists as they can be more expensive for similar quality. oh,,I`m 41 but 16 in my head
  23. "Dogz"? ,,,in a cockney accent
  24. Forgive me but can this be another example of why if I have the slightest doubt I use a Split Level then no sitting back can occur after the wedge/cant hooks placed in before the final angle cut to release.? Or am I being obtuse???

    How Old

Remember those of us baby-boomers of the 50`s & 60`s were brought up on mouldy brown bread, were out of the house all day swinging in trees foraging for food and were resilient to all illnesses and therefore superior in strength and fitness so I`ll probably have my wake in a tree hopefully into my late 90`s as my grandma`s 98 and still fit as a flea I look after Gaia and she looks after me
