  1. At 70ft could you not crown raise and thin, and do as minimal a reduction as possible?
  2. Good advice Tom. Its exactly what i did and mine is toasty as hell now. I have the viscous coupled fan on my 300tdi, so when idling the engine won't really heat up like on jap stuff/ cars etc, and in the winter i put a board in front of the rad too, making sure the intercooler isnt covered. Removing the viscous fan and replacing with electric will get over this problem and also give a few more horsepower.
  3. The unreliability of landrovers compared to other stuff is one of the biggest myths around, purported by thise whio have bought knackered ones cheap, or havent looked after them properly. The thing is that landrovers are so much more capable than any other 4x4, so they get far more abuse, so appear to be unreliable. Now a load of people will now come on here and say I am talking crap, but I have had several landrovers, and also jap stuff, and I would NEVER go back to the flimsy japanese/ ford stuff again, because it is less reliable than my current landrover, and HIDEOUSLY expensive to repair. In my experience, people who denegrate landrovers are often thiose who couldnt afford a decent one too, or have had one bad experience. Most of the jap crap is okay because it has never really done anything tough enough to break, or even dirty it. Get the most expensive defender you can buy, there is no such thing as a cheap one, unless you buy an already knackered one.
  4. Steve- I seem to have lost my home page. When i click on Home, it takes me to the Forum page, and when i log on I get a v-bulletin message. Been about a week now, just havent got round to saying anything yet.
  5. Believe it when I see it..........I think its just a tease from husky and that they have zero intention of ever releasing it. It will be pointless anyway as everyone will be soo fed up of having the mick taken by husky over this saw :thumbdown:that they will have bought ms200s.
  6. Brilliant news. Glad to hear a successful outcome for a change.
  7. I climbed what i think is the tallest in Cornwall, being that spruce I mentioned. So You should be, getting somerset and cornwall mixed up. Its okay though, I wont tell anyone in the cornish nationalist party where you live.......
  8. Both are amongst the best quality chippers out there IMO. Bandit and vermeer are getting on for as good as they come.
  9. I am very tempted....I have the old lego mog, but this one is awesome. However I was under the impression that this crane was the most complicated ever. Maybe not? They are certainly saying that the mog is the most complicated. It was my son's 11th birthday today. He got this from my brother in law....

  13. I had Ade's 660 and couldnt wait to get back to my 390 TCD. I seemed to be refuelling that 660 all day, and TBH it felt heavier to me. Need to get them side by side i reckon. (BTW TCD, not had the timber delivered yet...anyday now:thumbup1:)
  14. Well my phone rang ten minutes into that so will have to catch it again on the iplayer.
