  1. I cannot understand comments about towing better than ifors? How do you know, and how is it possible....they are identical to each other:confused1:
  2. Thyats right. Most bars are sub 5 mins on normal sharpening duties, which TBH is probably faster than messing about with the machine!!
  3. Yeah the wear mark is parallel with the cutting edge. Those gadgets are probably all slightly different, as are the filing angles of various makes and pitches of chains.I tend to use the file holder like this:Google Image Result for http://www.clark-engineering.com/media/uploads/cat-149/oregon-file-holder-165.jpg which is really all you need....
  4. If you search around, this topic has been covered in many threads before on arbtalk.
  5. If the tooth is looking too elongated you are pointing down hill too far, and iff the tooth appears to short, ie the angle seems too flat from above, you are pointing up hill too much.
  6. It sounds like operator error TBH not the file.....its the way you are doing it!! The file should be running parallel to the wear mark on the top of the tooth, and at 90 degrees to the bar. (some chains the file runs at 10 degrees up or don from the 90). TBH unless it is drastically different to the wear marks i wouldnt worry.
  7. Jon- running muds will drastically reduce fuel efficiency.
  8. Just looked at the website...this is a different timberwolf to the woodcipper supplier here in the UK isnt it?
  9. Possibly because there are so many good quality machines out there already?
  10. Ah....of course.....iveco daily...ahem.....
  11. Good point treefeller- if i stick below 60 ish unladen, I can return best part of 30mpg on a good day.
  12. Abysmal mpg here. Big muds and roofrack dont help.....and heavy ish right foot lol. I dont reckon i get much, if any, over 20mpg loaded with chipper etc too. Somehow its 2.3 tonne empty too which cant help.
  13. LOL we just sold ours....my wife's.....which was a 4 wheeler, but only 2 seat and 'luggage' space.
  14. Its still only (!!!!) £65 at the mo...
  15. Never saw that as the one i was near wasnt tipped. Very nice. Do you stilll get ramp stowage if you have toolboxes?
  16. And its only the beginning of winter!!
  17. Frightening isnt it.....buying the horse is the cheapest part of it all! How much is straw and haylage up your way? Straw £190/ tonne delivered by the lorry load, £4+ for small bale barley straw.....
  18. I have always been an ifor snob, until these atlas ones came out. As steve said- side by side you really cant tell the difference. I would have one if i was in the market.
  19. Missus says 'bargain, well done you'
  20. Thats a relief then:001_rolleyes:
  21. Its the start of a slippery slope mate......
