  1. LOL- the boy started it, but i built the track for/ with him. I had train set as a boy, and my old man did too, so I was into the whole idea at first......it has become a bit ott though. Better than the goggle box anyday i reckon.
  2. Chiros are great, IF what they offer (mostly manipulation (bone crunching)) is what your back requires. Unfortunately this is not actually required in most cases, and can/ does cause alot of arthritic problems, and can lead to prolapsed discs (as hapened to 2 of my friends at different chiros). The usual form is that they will ask to x-ray you, even if you have recent x-rays from, say, the hospital and that is how they first make money. Then they will need you to keep coming back, and often tell you it will be a certain length of treatment. This too is nonsense, as it is technically impossible to tell the extent of any spino-skeletal problems on a first visit, as muscles are generally so tense and knotted in reaction to the pain that a true diagnosis cannot be made. blether blether blether blah blah blah...
  3. You see therein lies half your problem- the pilates is great, but not having one of those money grabbing morons messing your back up will have helped enormously. If you do need to see a specialist, see a physiotherapist, chiropractors are responsible for a large part of remedial patients seen by physiotherapists, who-unlike chiroprators- are actually recognised as medical practitioners. Chiropractors are classed as alternative therapy, along with the likes of herbalists, reiki healers etc etc.
  4. Exactly. These are the ones that get told I will charge extra to remove the logs. If they are sound decent people it gets done in the price- I will take it away if they want the site clear, or leave it if they want the logs. The price goes up if they start behaving like your customer, who obviously thinks that we all go home laughing our tits off about the vast profits we are going to make out of our idiot customers logs.....if only that was even remotely true!! We have all had it, and unfortunately there are alot of people who WILL do large trees for the firewood.
  5. I love co-codamol. I also rate tramadol as a pain killer. You do have to be aware of the side effects, and plan accordingly though. I find that the amount required does depend on how much stretching and warming up exercises are undertaken though.
  6. I have a 9 year old son-what do you expect:laugh1:
  7. A bit like electric train sets?
  8. Charge them extra to take the logs away.
  9. I have had the misfortune of owning one of those, also a cut off saw and post hole borer with that same 'orrible power head:lol: Maybe the seller means he will pay that price for someone to take it off his hands!
  10. If the lights are brighter then your battery was knackered anyway...........your alternator MAY have been okay....dulling lights on a vehicle usually mean end of battery life....
  11. hmmmmm...'it shrank in the rain ociffer'
  12. I would like to add a garage to this thread for land rover owners in cornwall: Mid Cornwall 4x4 in Bugle. ..:Mid Cornwall 4x4:.. Excellent service and prices, and 50 odd years of experience.
  13. I personally think you have contradicted yourself in your first sentence, but on a serious note, put this thread in the Timberwolf area of the forum, and they will get back to you.
  14. As regarding towing 3500kg, if your truck is not PERMANENT 4wheel drive, there is NO CHANCE you can legally tow 3500kg, which is why landrover products are JUST ABOUT the only ones that can tow that weight.
  15. Thats right Josh- the 130 is still 127, and I believe you are correct- it was a 127 until the defender range came out (with a 200tdi). Before that the flat fronted 90 and 110 and 127 models were badged as 'landrover 90/110/127' along the front where they now say 'defender'.
  16. Correct. DVLA DO NOT recognise the 130. It is classed the same as a 110. I had this discussion in detail with another tree surgeon who has recently swapped his chassis. He has a K registered 130", built from various donor vehicles and registered as a 109, with a 200tdi in it. He checked with DVLA and they werent interested in it. Their classifications are SWB or LWB, be that 80/ 107, 88/109, 90/110. The 130 doesnt even enter into it. He spent hours on the phone with them so he was ABSOLOUTELY sure of his facts in the event of being stopped by plod.
  17. I am toying with a new chassis for my 110. Its starting to show its age in places, and im not interested in a patchwork quilt. I will be turning it into a 130, and will put a storage locker behind the cab, and keep all my present tipping gear etc.....i can get a galvy chassis for around 1500, and my garage will do the swap for probably less than 600, plus the cost of a new rear prop. Project for next year methinks..
  18. Which of the two were you referring to justin?
  19. That some saw aint it Ace. It really snarls! I had a go with it a while ago whilst working with TCD cutting up a beech you and grandad would have been proud of. Top set of pics!
