  1. Really it depends on the situation and the individual tree , there are plenty of time that i would not use a side strop to tie in while cutting for saftey reasons but in most cases i will strop in .Well unless im advancing up an apple tree ha ha
  2. Also how many people use fish oil's , Glucosamine or Bcaa's while using creatine ?
  3. Whats the problem Tommer ?
  4. i know David Riding had one fitted on a green mech chiper that was on the back of his mog
  5. Creatine is a safe suplement that can be used in conjunction with a well ballanced diet and appropriate trainng programe. One of the reasons that people can suffer joint problems when training using Creatine is that they are over training muscle groups thus causing a core imbalence , secondly it may be that too mch weight is being used with a poor technique , and thirdly he/she may have been using creatine for too long , 3 months on and 1 month off is a common pattern of usage . Another considderation is the type of Creatine that is being used , im sure some of you are aware there are several forms , ie creatine monohydrate, Creatine Ethyl Ester and several others , some are more effective and concentrated than others and can alter your daily reccomended water consumption considderably which in turn if you are dehydrated thus having a negative response to prolonged training . Any way i hope some of my post is of use/ intrest to some of you
  6. have any of you guys had troubles with any other suplements ?
  7. yeah it was/is live work , some of it is getting burnt under both the 33kv and 11kv , never the less its nice to get a decant site clearence job from Western Power . so far we have felled roughly 150 (ish) trees and probably just as many left to take down , this is where i wish i had a timber trailer and crane !!!!
  8. just a few from today , nothing too interesting tho
  9. my post was not aimed at yo and i can see where you are comming from , it happen to us all - you look at a decent job , give advice and get good feedback from the customer and its looking like the job is yours , then you drive past a ew weeks later and it been done !!! never a good feeling but hey look on the bright side - this week / next week or even next month you may well do the same to another firm . keep your chin up
  10. FFS guys come on - if the guy is happy taking the tree down for free just for the timber and the customer is happy then whats the big issue ? im not sure about you but i know for a fact that im not going to get every job i quote and if im honest i think many of us would rather lose out to an old guy thats doing it for the timber rather than a rival tree firm doing it for a couple quid less than you and putting the money towards buying more kit to allow them to take a bit more work off of you !
  11. it may be worth giving Iain jonston (contracts manager) at silvanus a call . hope you get some work soon
  12. have you tried Jas p wilson ?
  13. sadly my German is not to great but the pictures did enough !!!
  14. financialy it is possible to do it in six days BUT it would be done buy getting a contractor with a harvester in and a forwarder , failing that i would say that you are peeing in the wind trying to do it in six days by hand - i do think that Brushcutter is working along the same lines as i would . if i may ask tho how many days do you want to do it in ?
  15. ha ha should be plenty of landrovers for sale soon then
  16. personally thet sound like a pair of half baked wannabe tree surgeons , clearlt bit of more than they could chew , sadly they didnt have the guts to come and explain this to your face . have you got any staff sorted yet ?
  17. at no point did i say that i could do it in six days ! but is seems that you have a good grip on where you going right so i dont think i could possibly compete with such experience
  18. well to cheer you up a bit more the fuel will be going up again tonight at midnight , oh and it does not look like oil will fall below 110 dollars a barrel any time soon . Happy Days !!
  19. 136.9 at chiverton near truro cornwall .
  20. i agree Steve , this goverment would do well to get the country anywhere near back on its feet any time within the next ten years , i will never understand how the previous goverment thought that buy trying to get everyone spending again and the spending being mainly credit card and loans that this would make things better !!! , i was reding a fund strategy magazine a few weeks back and as expected there was an article on the recession and acording to them the only social sector that will feel the pinch of the recession the least is infact the longterm unemployed !!.
  21. At no point have i said that i could with a digger but im pretty sure it i used a tractor with timber crane to do alot of my stacking and heaping brash then im pretty sure i would have a significant ammount more dont than you would
  22. i know you have the forwarding BUT a tractor and timber crane will make you life much easyer . maybe you need to re-assess how productive the opperation is at the moment , is a digger that much use or is there a better option ? also maybe see if you can get and see some skilled han cutters in opperation . Please do not think that i am knocking you , i am mearly trying to give you some ideas and pointers as i have done a fair bit of forrestry:001_smile:
  23. speak for your self Andy , i personally was not impressed in the VAT reduction as it was obvious that the only people that were going to suffer in the long run were the small/medium businesses like myself and many others on here . it is proven that the country is in a far worse state now than when the previous goverment brought the vat reduction into play . i guarante you the vat increase will stick arround far longer than the vat reduction did !!!!
  24. hmmm if i was not interested im milling timber before then i certainly am now .
  25. being vat registered is a pain in the arse and yes the 2.5% increase is only going to give 95% of my competitors a 20% lead as oppsed to 17.5% that they now have . i guess that the VAT allowance has not been incresed by 2.5% tho !!!! and i dont envy you justin
