  1. I've got a 750 contractor, great little chipper. Had to weld hopper by rollers a few times, They must use thinner metal on this, fuel tank smaller, spare wheel not attached and engine is different that I know of. Blades are the same so assume flywheel is same.
  2. For cleaning up, a backpack blower every time. You can blow the waste a lot further and hide it under a hedge far quicker than with a hand held blower!!! Only down side it's big and cumbersome for storing in van.
  3. After working hard to build up your business I think it would be daft to give it all up to go power line clearance. With power line clearance people don't really want you to cut their trees a little thankless, the occasional land owner pulling a fast one wanting compensation for anything they can claim for. I done years on the power lines and started my own company about four years ago, I would never go back now. You have to keep land owner happy also the company you will sub for and electricity company, this can be hard work in itself. The grass isn't always greener!!
  4. I had a problem with haix boots which I bought from for f r Jones, they were just within the warranty. I sent an email with photo to f r Jones asking if they could help me. All they wanted was date of purchase and number from inside boots. a week later I had a new pair delivered free of charge. It's that simple.
  5. Cheers for that. Probably better looking on you tube to fully understand them.
  6. I've been considering one for a while. you mention a pulley saver, do you put this up the tree with a throw bag and rope or do you set it up once you get to the top? Are they any good on conifers? Can they be used on any rope?? Cheers
  7. If the tree owner wanted to grow the trees that high perhaps they should have planted trees about 3 metres away from boundary. I dont see why you should not carry out your plans for your garden due to neighbours trees root encroaching your property. Perhaps tree owner refused to cut trees and left neighbour with no other choice than to cut roots and make trees unsafe.
  8. Why not phone him up and ask him to come out and give you a price for tree cutting, make some address up. That should wind him up!!
  9. How about changing the plug. Cheaper than a coil!!!
  10. Had something in my eye years ago, gave me grief for a couple of days after even tho I got it out straight away. Doctor told me I had conjunctivitis used cream for a week still the same doctor then gave me a different cream and sent me packing. That was no use either, doctor referred me to eye casualty where I have been going back and forth for years now. My eye flairs up if I am run down or very busy, got to put steroid drops and cream in my eye to calm it down, I also take two tablets every day. I got scarring across my pupil so bad vision out of left eye I can have a cornea transplant to try and improve vision, decided against this at the minute. If you think your eye is bad go straight to a and e get it sorted as you don't want the crap I go through with my eye guys trust me.

    Vw lt35

I have one 2.5 td pulls like a train even when loaded and pulling a chipper. Only put two ball joints on it in three years and the usual servicing. Rubbish off Tarmac as it only a single wheel unless you got a bit of weight in it. My vw mechanic reckons the timing belts are only good for 40000 miles. If its a good van your looking at you won't go wrong.
  12. I have seen this done as stables, they clamped boards across and attached tin sheets to the boards. The person who done this owns a large scaffolding company and has endless clamps, tubes and boards.
  13. Ok it puts link up for you!!
  14. Hey guys was looking at a website and came across two land rover tippers up for auction on dec 16th. They are on Merthyr Motor Auctions - The largest car, van, commercial, minibus, ambulance, tipper auction in the United Kingdom. A stunning selection of over 3000 cars and vans auctioned weekly. under 4x4 section. Sorry don't know how to put link up, only just managed to post a new thread!!
  15. Everyone has mentioned how they wouldn't do it like that no one has mentioned the blue car parked about 10 foot away? To climb and section you would have to lower everything to avoid car. They obviously thought they could fell it and did so without damaging anything. Don't see what all the fuss is myself.
  16. I have a g ducker chipper on eBay rite now exactly the same as a tp lindana 660. I started off using it on weekends and then fairly regular once I became self employed. It doesn't look pretty but it does what it says on the tin. It's simple to work on and can buy parts from either Osborne by Southampton or Atkinson vos up north. Ideal for what your looking for
  17. I have a passat estate 56 plate, with almost 160000 miles on it. Full service history. Will be selling it real soon with new mot. Bought a Touran instead, passat far better car in my eyes don't tell mrs!! Message me if you want more info.
  18. I saw a new kubota Diesel engine on eBay £600, not sure what hp it is. It might be easy enough to swap and keep you going for a while. Not sure how to put up link, I just typed in chipper.
  19.

  20. The guy in a vest must have taken that from his wife's draw, no way would any man buy that vest:lol: Hope it's good news in the end.
  21. I have supplied a local Italian restaurant in the past, he wanted conifer as he recons oak and beech produced to much heat and burn the pizza. I didn't ask no more questions as I walked away with a big take out and a bottle of wine
  22. I bought a tp 150 and had similar problem, I tried lots of different things belts blades and little sweepers on edge of fly wheel (not sure if yours will have sweepers). The clutch went on it and I replaced the clutch bearings also it was a different machine after. Make sure all bearings are good as one of mine was so worn it was slowing down the flywheel and not able to throw chip out it was more a dribble! Good luck.
  23. I have been working on a roadside clearance job where there is a 5 ton digger with a grapple on it. The operator was disappointed with it as he struggles to grab trees if they are felled in sertain angles. Just something to consider when you buy one.
  24. There were lots of things that led up to us not working on. I used to work on unpaid repairing chippers so we could get on with next days work, And any thing else I could help with. I ain't a bad employee like it might come across! My point was to be open to staff and explain not take take take like I have previously experienced:001_smile:
  25. I would say talk to them and explain your situation you will get more respect from them. An old employer of mine used to basically say it's my way or highway, rub all the boys up the wrong way and production would slow right down. We would never work on an extra 10 min to finish job off we would rather go back next day. All this was because the boss became a total co@k. I have always done more for someone who has been open and honest to me.
