  1. an old work mate of mine swore that baby oil works brilliant on skin, not sure about useing it on kit. and if you save a little who knows you might be able to save some for the misses!!
  2. I use a vice from machine mart (don't know how to put up link) it's a hobby swivel vice. Very handy and cheap. Between than and a stump vice I can fix it to something that's around.
  3. if its important for people to put others in class they have insecurity in their own lives and feel better by putting others down imo. i would rather be at the bottom of the pile but know i am nice person anytime.
  4. Today I phoned swalec as they owe us an estimated £530 and asked for it back He then replied it's an estimate, I then gave him current readings he types away and said it will take quite a few minutes and comes back with we now owe you an estimated £298. I asked for this back He said if you take all money back our payments will go from £58 to £75 a month I replied we are already paying to much He said it's our system I said I would rather the money in my bank and earning me money not swalec He replied we don't earn any money from interest This is where I bang my head against the wall!!! I have now asked for a bill to see how they come up with these crazy figures. Either way we are getting shafted by utilitiy companies and today they announce bills are to go up again. Rant over
  5. If it starts up immedietly after, I personally don't think it's fuel. I would start with a new spark plug as it's cheap if not that I would look at coil.
  6. A company I used to work for had a timberwolf with a similar problem, it turned out it was a broken wire going into a conector under the infeed shoot behind the fuel tank. From memory it was a blue cable and think it was near some relays and awkward to get to. Hope this might help!!!
  7. Hi spud I have had a look on eBay for mentioned pistons, I can only find them in the USA. Is this where you get them from? I found piston and cylinder with a company called ghs and mister solution, do you know if these pistons and cylinders are any good?
  8. They planted a load of lime trees along side of road by me. Have been watching them for a few years now and they always drop their leaves early, most of them have dropped every leaf already. Might be a similar thing.
  9. I remember talking to a farmer who wanted to build a house on his land. He was constantly turned down, he then put plans in for a travellers site! He soon received his approval to build his house. I also have a customer who has more money than he knows what to do with, if he wants something he will throw thousands and thousands at it until he gets what he wants. I hope your neighbour isn't like this otherwise it can take over your life. Not exactly what you need. Good luck

We were having traffic lights set up for one of our jobs and there was a car parked opposite. We could see them loading the car so new they wouldnt be long before moving. Another car pulled up behind this one so i asked them to move, he moved back about two car lengths, I asked again and he said i will in a minute. He then got out of his car and got in the other one and drove off. The car was there for about 30 min and was getting in the way of some big tractors, I called the police who were going to get it recovered as I had asked him twice to move it. The wife came running around the corner with car keys in her hand asking us to move it. Another 30 min went past with tractor drivers abusing the wife and husband comes back shouting all the odds and calling us everything under the sun. That afternoon the office gets a call asking for compensation for spoiling his day and saying that we were very abusive and said that we told him he could park there.
  14. After reading most posts i can see everyones point. Talking from my experience i work for an utility company, it has a high turnover of staff!! If your out of work for a long time the dole put you on a chainsaw course then climbing and so on. Ask yourself why they have been out of work? They are boneidle (not everyone) They get put on a placement with our company and dont want to do anything, they find out what other experienced boys earn and do even less. Some of these boys have cut their arms, jackets, ropes and one even cut his own anchor point!! Why should they be paid top dollar they cant think of their own safety let alone others they also do little as possible. When i started over ten years ago i paid for all my own courses, when i was qualified i phoned all local companies untill i got a chance to prove myself, I never put a price on myself i took what i was offered and have never looked back. All you youngsters that are keen keep at it you will soon get an opening to proove yourselves.
  15. A guy i used to work with asked my current boss if he would hire a chipper to him. My boss didnt know him and asked me what he was like, I said nice guy yeah you can trust him..... When the chipper came back the stop bar was hanging off and it was blocked. It took us hours to unblock and the cost of parts to put stop bar back on. We later found out it wasnt him who was using the chipper but his mate, I felt a right tit for recommending him as a reliable guy. Goes to show you cant always trust people!
  16. Try Merthyr Motor Auctions. I know Western Power and Local councils old vehicles go there.
  17. There used to be a dodgy garage by me who used to have a boomerang car. They would let the new owner have the car for a few days then pick it up with the spare keys, change the car id and other identyfiable parts then sell it on again and again. I know the person you had it off is helpfull, who did he get it off? was this person just bideing his time to take it back? Sorry i am always suspicious of people, the fact you only had it for 48hrs, alarm and immobiliser was bypassed makes me think. Dont think you will see it again tho sorry to say.
  18. I keep mine inside my helmet. Used it a few times whilst using a silky!
