Indeed, I went to look at a mini digger from these guys a few weeks back though and it was riddled with issues that they 'had never noticed before'

Why does everyone go on about a heavy chipper killing the truck and brakes etc. Yet when big 3.5t tipping trailers are discussed it's never brought up, even though they are heavier?

That and also with a combined turnover that must be 200k or more to necessitate 3 businesses...what's the point in avoiding it rediculous and when he gets caught his life will be ruined

You can't have two companies doing similar or in this case identical businesses and one not be VAT registered. You could only do this if you for example had a tree surgery contracting company and a green grocers shop or similar very distant businesses, that's what my account told me and anyway and makes perfect sense imo. I went Got into VAT a few years ago and profits And turnover has continued to steadily rise since, profit more so infact. Dealing with domestic customers and VAT can be tricky if they're a bit tight but you just have to word things right I.e customer-"does that include VAT" you " That is the total price" there's no need to directly mention VAT answering that question, then they won't get a bee in their bonnet.

I load my ifor front to back usually and just use a big ratchet strap to get it back in shape.

I used to cycle a fair bit when I raced motocross, could usually average around 20mph locally but this fell tepidly for any distance over 20 miles. Can be very addictive trying to beat your times, more so now with strata etc

9-12" you'll struggle to hire a chipper that size from the usual places though

I'd disagree there, a demo grab sounds perfect for what he describes from he few days I spent on one last week. Pulled out lots of things roots and all, and grabbed up plenty of earth to bury embedded metal that I couldn't pull out, it held the soil nicely once the stuff that was obviously going to fall out had.

How about the little Vermeer mini skid steer, seems it can lift more than the smaller avant, but in a more compact package.

Do you think a rubber tracked mini digger with grab could perform the same role as a mini loader day to day ? I've a lot of experience on diggers but little with articulated loaders so unsure where they would excel, other than long drags.

Sorted through all this brash mixed with fencing and pipes yesterday. Very pleased with the performance of the 6t neuson and grab very easy to use.

Mine spends most of its time behind an 18t tipper but on occasion it goes out with the Land Rover, which tows it no problem. It chips with minimal mess into the open roofed body, just don't chip on full revs. Funny how many say, they're too heavy for a 3.5t vehicle, yet plenty of guys on here run 3.5t tipping trailers and brim them with logs and chip behind the same vehicles. However if you only have a 3.5t you'll quickly be looking to buy a lorry as a quick chipper will fill the tiny body even faster than normal, highlighting the bottleneck in the process.

I have a 90, it's great machine. It makes light work of dragging in horrible twisty stuff life hawthorn, cherry etc and throws chip further than anything else I've seen at that size. It is quite a large machine as has been mentioned but still easy enough to fit anywhere you care to put it. It's a good everyday machine that has enough grunt that you can take on very large jobs and your chipper won't become the bottleneck. It's worth considering the 12" machines bandit make which are of similar physical size.

As rich said above its mostly based around payload. Or usually clearly defined by the manufacturer making a special commercial model, like the discovery commercial, the rest of the range is not commercial.

Sort something classed as commercial I.e a double cab pick up with a ton payload and it's fully deductible. If you want something nicer, say a RRS then all the other rules come into play and you would claim very little back if anything.
