I've been loading my grinder (hb20 size) with ramps on the tailgate of my pickup for years with no issue it'll even take doing this with the skidsteer at about 750kg.

Much cheaper and more practical to lift kit over with a crane. You'd need a crane to get the pile of stuff back over a fence from a garden with no access anyway.

I've used the above ditchwitch a few times and the Vermeer both are great machines but the former is cheaper with no shortcomings

Mine has a light it comes on solidly and you know when it's engaged the truck feels different, takes a few more revs to get moving etc

Id sell you my 9" diesel Vermeer for less and it's a hell of a lot more machine !

Stephen, what's the biggest conifer that shear could comfortably cut and hold on your little machine ?

I've an 06 L200 (later shape, higher geared better on fuel) had it 7-8 years now. It goes out everyday quoting and often has the stump grinder in the bed, also does log deliveries and tows the Bandit or Ifor tipper several times a week. In the time I've had all I've replaced is a clutch and two rear springs as a few leafs broke as well as the usual tyres brake pads etc. That's a good truck as far as I'm concerned.

You have inspections these would typically be 10-13 weeks for what we do, it's not a service, just a few hours labour max every few months. A 6 ton truck is the same physical size as a 3.5t so your point about lack of space is invalid. A lot of firms stick with 3.5t for their whole working life, using the usual ignorant by 'reasons' found in these threads. If you can't afford to run a lgv then you certainly can't afford to run an abused 3.5t IMO

Got one of these in August, seemed good to start with and cheap but everyone hates it and it's rubbish. Spanners fall out and the thread on the oil side is knackered impossible to get it in straight so it always leaks oil. Also the end of the petrol spout leaks petrol more often than not when filling a saw with oil. Stick with STIHL

Price what you want for the job and get it done as quickly as possible, the price is the price wether we're there 2 hours or 3 days, what t adds up to per hour is not their business, unless they want the work carried out on an hourly rate.

Does anyone know of a place or places which take chip in Sheppey we are working there later this month and will need to tip a couple of loads, should be fairly clean as its all poplar. Thanks

What size is the opening ? And do the drums cope with conifer better than the discs, I find really dense stuff can get a bit stuck between rollers and disc in my 90....and yes I do keep it sharp.

Coppard do a lovely 6t Neuson Machine with grab and thumb for a good price. Haulage may be a bit steep out to Suffolk though! -

My accountant sorts out payroll for £5 a month, presuming monthly payments.

Picture from the top may be helpful, I find them very easy to sharpen as if they're sharp they look and feel sharp where as the others always seem a bit round

Number relates to length of belt in inches.

This can change if it's had a different size pulley fitted during a service though.. Mine currently uses A33 or A331/2

If you've not checked the steel I for ramps are reasonably priced new £185 for the 8ft ones
