  1. Morning Al. Hope you're well Jon @Old Mill Tree Care
  2. And a great good morning to you too! I hope you never need the £50k p.a. meds
  3. Well I'm not offering to pay for my meds; I'm on stuff that costs the NHS £1k a week! No, I'm not going into details but there are a couple on here that will have some idea. Hence I'm massively grateful for the NHS, the fact that I paid NI for so many years and to those paying now. I salute you and wish you all a Merry Xmas!!!
  4. That's easy for you to say
  5. Were you ill with anything before the cough started? Post viral coughs often last several weeks
  6. Oh God; I'm repeating myself - I've already said all this 🤦‍♂️
  7. Same here and I'm in the 'dry' part of the country. I'm sure clients think I'm even more full of it than usual when I tell them the logs were drier in September than they are now and that they feel wet because they've re-absorbed moisture from the air. I advise people to keep their logs in the house near the fire/burner for a few days before actually burning them I've been doing logs since 2005 and the last 18 months I'd say have been the worst for drying: when it hasn't been actually raining the air has been still or thereabouts
  8. Welcome to the forum A location would help and a description of what's avialable though haulage of that amount may be worthwhile the length of the country! Good luck with it
  9. ...also used to make the hammers of quality pianos I think
  10. He deserves a shiny screwgate biner!
  11. Turners and some other woodworkers who operate beyond hobby levels love it; there's a chap on here who rarely visits now that is likely to be interested in 1" diameter sticks. The stuff's that rare over here now and usable. I actually have a handful of such sticks stored outside awaiting I don't know what or who to turn up!
  12. My dad bought a house and large garden + woodland in East Sussex in the late 60s that had been planted with pop amongst other things: the previous owner said he'd planted them for matchsticks and coffins
  13. Snap! I knew he was born in Kent but not the same hospital (presumably hospital)
  14. Christ - last I read he was on the mend. Poor sod
  15. Yeah that happens but shouldn't - the bit about not being shown recovered I mean. So are they saying that the van was shown stolen when you had your interaction that night? Would explain much. You should still have been aware of what the reasoning was behind their approach though

  20. Small world. Enjoy the walk. Some of the Downs have plenty of trees, especially ABD ash!
  21. It's still in Surrey 🤣

Paul McCartney's latest album could use a better title
  23. Wtf? Slashed 20 tyres on the trailer?! Jesus wept - I despair; just what the hell is wrong with people?
  24. Nah. I think he's a quiet, softly spoken kind of guy who was seen as an easy touch by some horrible power crazed bullies. Poor eggs 🤭
  25. Horses for courses but as someone who burns only softwood I hate WRC; crackly spitty stuff that burns very fast and gives out only a little heat I find. I currently have about three dumpy bags of offcuts from having had the house re-clad in it. The house looks fantastic but I'm only burning the smallest offcuts as a means of disposal; the bigger bits I think I'll offer to Men In Sheds. I'm also in E Sx!
