  1. If you move it too far forward brash will catch it easier. My bar has been caught with the digger a few times and now sits a few inches infront and is a pita. I need to get it fabricated back to where it should go
  2. Tighten up the nuts that hold it onto the chipper. usually 2 at the top and 2 in the middle.
  3. havent weighed myself since september at the Gym. 6' and about 12.5 stone i reckon
  4. you dont need big bucks , just a constant stream of money. Its always been simple in my mind, just work and keep on working. forget the pub, nights out, parties, holidays just keep working. I took a time out from 2007-2011, to spend time with my kids as they were very young, dropped to a few days a week, after that its back to work. i love working, it keeps me sane, and my wife even more so. Failing has never been an option, what do you do the day after you give up, i still need to pay bills. My bills cant be paid on a climbers wage, debt from mahinery and property has always made me get back out there. And i like nice things. There has been low points, very stressfull times but they are far outweighed by the good times this job brings. Its not all about climbing trees, its being able to deal with people and not with some of them even more so. Good thread Adam, its great to get things out your head and onto the screen and have people relate to your experiences.
  5. I had a RR sport V6 for 3 years, towed the caravan and 3 tonner faultlessly for that time. I only spent £480 on tyres and brakes in that time. The V8 would be awesome.
  6. My forearms are sore from typing, RSI from Arbtalk!
  7. Nitrax, the Rolls royce of boots!! i used to stare at them on the top shelf in the chainsaw shop. They were £200 20 years ago.
  8. thats very impresive! if that takes root then i have found a new business venture with the hiab !!
  9. what you tied too dean? Chipper spout?
  10. 7 ton Jon, backfilling and dressing up a ground source heat system i was helping on
  11. Cheers, got some stickers on her the other day so I feel she is mine now.
  12. i reckon it was a mix of Sitka, and that lodge pole stuff got starved of light so it adapted!
  13. exactly what i was thinking! its a peat harvester of some kind.
  14. its been thinned out, they have left the goofy ones.
  15. sit it on a few logs quite high and then work your way down and see how it does, revs are always low winching and you cant always be on level ground.
  16. what model is the mog? Have you ran it up to see how it sounds? If its too steep an angle, you will likely hear a noise from just behind the cab that doesnt sound right. Also adjusting the top link can make a difference. I shortened arms before and that was a couple of hours work for a fabricator, maybe something to consider, obviously you can make them longer too but that can effect lift more. Pictures help.
  17. I struggled to watch that as far as i did. Cool music, cool editing, nice landrover, cool drone. As far as tree work goes very shabby, dangerously infact.
  18. No way you are 39!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought you were about 55!!!!! Ciders talking mate😀
  19. I need a winch for the mog, a pto werner under the hiab would do nicely
