  1. The manager could of left on bad terms and anything to do with him will be a bad taste in their mouth. I'd go and speak with them and if they are genuinely un aware of your job then try and meet in the middle and put the blame on this other guy, shake hands and keep a good customer! Even if you could cover your costs and take your share on the chin. If they just point blank palm you off then small claims court like Felix says. Horrible when it happens, very stressfull and unfair
  2. I'd worry some little elf would take the loppers to it!
  3. My ninja Jcb mate said the exact same! If his hands are out front then it's back hoe, by his side the servo but on the micros he was all over the place!!!
  4. Personally I'd give the job I wide berth!
  5. Great work!
  6. Did you stop off for the loo mate
  7. The battery saws are excellent for pruning and save a lot of starting
  8. Steve obviously as he started the forum. And everyone who posts,
  9. Diggers don't depreciate much, there's the initial outlay or finance but you have to be pretty rough to loose a lot of money on them. Better than money in the bank I think.
  10. That's the good thing about owning it, when you hire it you are committed to use it in a small time frame! Today I had the 7 tonner loading the , dumper and the 3 tonner to spread the stuff and just me, I just jumped from 1 to another! I left site for 3 hours and came back and cracked on, if I had staff and it was hired I couldn't of done that and would of been stressed out!
  11. Hi, the bigger machine has been non stop since the end of December on a local job! I nearly sold it but glad I didn't now. It's finished there at the end of the week then going back to the yard for chores and then I have a few days work for it in the village.
  12. No trees for me today, spreading stone to re do the roads I've been messing up
  13. The lad I Keep my stuff at was brought up on JCB's, he picked up an old 3cx a few months back! What he can do on it blows my mind! He spends most of his time with his feet on the independent breaks, twisted round operating the controls with his arms and on the back 2 wheels! I'm tempted for a newer 1! I do loads with my 3 toner and dumper but I could do it with a backhoe, it's just getting my skill level up! I'm ok with the front end, mother back end is tricky! I would want the servo controls There is a case like that locally to me Eddie that just sits on a building site owned by a big developer! Cracking bit of kit but my pal says the bent back arm is a pita at times trying to work next to a banking!
  14. Blue sky and frosty here! Have a nice day folks
  15. Hi, I am not suprised at that price, I was expecting more tbh!
  16. Oh I can afford a trip round the world if I fancy it, what I don't want to do is waste my time to go and look at something I really want then find out I can't justify spending that kind of money on it!
  17. Very tidy work! Where are you based?
  18. Glad you are doing well Dan, expect to have bad days, expect to have breakdowns Nd expect problems, what I love about the forum is we can fix problems at the side of the road in minutes by starting a thread on here! As long as you have a signal you will be ok! It's like 'phone a friend ' ! I remember Dean Lofthouse tuning my 020 over the phone telling me what way to twiddle the wee orange screwdriver
  19. that is an old saying when it comes to buying a Rolls Royces and I reckon it will be out my league BUT I don't like the fact they won't tell me the price! I am now in the huff
  20. Just do it, leave the house that morning with ' I work for myself now ' in your head! the first person you see and know, say Hi, when they say what are you up to, say ' I work for myself now" and that starts a chain reaction of events! You don't need a saw or a van or insurance to do that! Is someone says,' great I have this huge tree needing cut up would you take a look! ' go and look at it, ask how much they would like to spend, they give you a figure and you then say ' no probs I'll do it! Then you talk to another person ask on here if anyone wants to give you a hand and bring a saw and their insurance and go halfs or whatever! The key ingredient is to NOT listen to Negative input! You can get positive input on what NOT to do but don't listen to the doom and gloomers! My main driver for wanting to be successful( who knows if I am or not ) was fuelled by resentment! I wanted to prove the people wrong who said I couldn't or had laughed at me ! The problem with using resentment as a driver is when you do make good it's easy to become arrogant! But that's a whole other story! There's no secret, just want to do it and work hard, work harder than the next man, work harder than your competition, when others are going to work you have done you first job, when others are going home or to the pub to the football to the golf, you should be working! Now charge on !
  21. Very cool Eddie, I've been invited over to a demo of the Diverto in the Netherlands but they won't give me any prices so I don't see the point in going if it's way out my reach!
  22. I love that Meme, I saw it the other day! Funny seeing a Jensen in red!
