  1. Tackeroo is caravans only. Wandon and Springslade are both good.
  2. Looks like it. Well done:thumbup:
  3. I,ve sat and watched some of Daniel's vids...too much time on my hands:001_smile: A lot of the winching techniques are what were used when I was felling with a team of old fallers. Used to get the adrenaline going cutting halfway up a backleaner with the Matador line attached. Good vids and good felling work.
  4. Sorry....misread first post. I see you mentioned oak now:001_smile:
  5. Not sure if the Gano is an issue here. Seems to be a failure of an old pollard union. I could be wrong though.
  6. I was hoping someone may come up with an id for the little brown un. They were all situated at the base of oaks. Few more of the Fomes. Checked out the growth underneath last pic of Gano and it had crawled away:001_smile:
  7. Had a wander between showers.
  8. That's Polyporous squamosus.
  9. I poisoned myself when I was 18. Violently sick, convulsions and muscle spasms which lasted a day. Picked a bag full of field mushrooms which my mom cooked for my tea. Never found out what was mixed in with them but it took me many years before I regained the confidence to pick and eat field mushies again.
  10. What a revalation it was when Prussic loops became available. Saved having to undo your three knots when changing position.
  11. Best year for fruit I can remember for a long time.
  12. Walnut leaf blister mite - Eriophyes erineus I think
  13. Really nice products there. Well done. If it counts I won best stand at West Mids show circa '88 How do you get thumbnails up instead of single pics?
  14. They must be on the move. Found this one crossing the yard today.
  15. G. applanatum and leaf miner evidently.
  16. Oh dear...too late. Been to pub
  17. Gano is on an oak. I'll check back to see if that growth has crawled off....never noticed it at the time. Tempted to try the chicken but didn't give the puff balls a thought. Was looking for chanterelles but must be too late.
  18. A few good areas of ancient oak woodland left....notably Brocton Coppice and around Shugborough Some good alder carr too. Was hoping to see plenty of fungi but there are a few fruit farms around using Eastern european labour and they've raided the place for anything edible!
  19. A few fungi from Cannock Chase this week along with some old oaks. .
  20. The only Junkari I've seen used was many years ago by a guy producing big chunks of wood for charcoal burning. Seem to remember it liked cord and worked on an Archmedes screw priciple.
  21. Nice lean over the water so when the time comes only the ducks need to scarper. Plunges are an attempt to create bat niches. I shall keep an eye out for any fungi.
  22. Happy is a man who has realised his vocation
