1. My girlfriend is after floorboards for her dining room. Not sure what size it is so I'll get it measured. She was priginally after reclaimed but is also keen on the idea of new ones cut from anything interesting. Does anyone produce any and if so what timber, sizes and price. Thanks in advance.
2. One I chanched upon today so no known history or if anything else has contributed towards its death.

6. I once passed on a domestic hedge job and ended up losing out because the customer then put many £100s worth of work to the contractor:thumbdown:
7. Tony, these trees are all on the edge of Cannock chase. Very close to that big oak. I'm pretty sure it must be a remnant of mediaeval wood pasture/deer park with an old earth boundary visible in one place. There's a lot of later planting; granny pines from the late 1700s and more recent FC plantations. Not as grand as Windsor but worth a look if you're up this way. Let me know if you're planning a visit.
8. Dyer's mazegill on a granny pine G australe on beech F hipatica on old pollard
9. Quercus chrysolepis?
10. Does anyone know if spares are available for the hydraulic roller stator on a 150? The output shaft has snapped. Part no; RS013968
11. Used to happen a lot on mine. Evidently it's reading some sort of overboost from the turbo and can be sorted by an overwrite on the ecu by Mitsubishi. I blanked the egr valve on mine and now rarely happens.
12. Had it done in '96. The op was painless. The following two days weren't but after that it's plain sailing all the way.
13. Stunning:thumbup1:
14. So they've taken 6k off a, probably, decent working bloke. Was he endangering anyone except himself? OK he should have been ensuring his safety but I think a telling off from HSE should have been sufficient along with him taking relevant courses. As for the NPTC snitch next door...well he should be ashamed of himself. Why didn't he just offer some constructive advice!
15. I'm with NFU on two vehicles. They wanted £600ish renewal on an L200 so I phoned them up and after two offers they finally quoted £450. They want your business so worth discussing with them.

Jokes???

A worldly wise tree surgeon marries his innocent and naive bride. On their first night they lie in bed and discover their bodies. Darling 'she says' what's that? Oh that's my rope. Honey 'she says' what are those? They're my knots. The night goes on and as they're making love she shouts out 'stop, stop. Honey what's the matter? Am I hurting you? No, no she pants. Can you undo those knots I need more rope.
17. ELG Olympics, Athens, 2004; didn't they do well:001_smile:
18. Used UPS to deliver a Rayco 1625 from Chicago to UK. They managed to lose it for 3 days in Chicago. Apart from that good service.

20. Yes Sequoia sempervirens was the one they used primarily. Both are really durable but they used to have problems felling Wellingtonia. It shatters so they tried to fell it into ditches full of brash. They felled a lot of them after discovering them in California as it was a bit of a macho thing to do:001_smile: I think one of the biggest fells took five days of axeing and sawing!
21. Built from sequoia yes but not sequoiadendron which is Wellingtonia. It was little used in the US for construction.
22. Butterbur......glaucous underside:001_smile:
23. That'll be fennel
24. Never really sure how much truth there is in these anecdotes. I've heard several recently: dead farmer's friend finding much dosh under his floorboards and a recently deceased gardener to a big house stashing all his dosh in the well in his garden. I suppose most of these stories rely on us wanting to believe they're true:001_smile:
