  1. My other half wants me to upload a few, managed to find a few arb related too
  2. It was the first of the seminar series i went to and first time i heard ted green, a real passionate and interesting guy. enjoyable day and will keep an eye out for the future dates
  3. I just cant imagine the first limb being 190ft, one day i will visit the giants
  4. Yeah appreciate your comments, the side growth was not much extra in some places but in some the die back was quite heavy with bark peeling on some live growth. here are some more pictures of the base of the tree, would be interesting to do some decay detection.
  5. Dont do many reductions and i thought may as well get abused on here and post some up. Think trees are protected as were given a spec from the tree officer of 6m down and 2m in, but i expect it will be down in a few years. I probably came in a little more but some lower limbs were quite long and felt with the amount coming off the top would look naff.
  6. Im really impressed by the look of this and seeing it in the video. possibly looking at going back on a hitch for a bit as the spiderjack is slipping again but this could be down to a bit of glazing on the rope:blushing:
  7. you have run the tail round the side of karabiner but is it supposed to finish of running between the hitch cord? thats the only difference i have spotted between your cooper and others or does it make no difference?
  8. I just read 15 pages hoping to see photos of the tree a year on or in leaf, any pictures tony?
  9. We are more aware of how to go about the situation and the safest way we can but doesn't mean its not dangerous
  10. But an electrician can pull out a fuse or turn the electric off a tree is not suddenly safe because a professional is about
  11. yeah red arrows chain tensioners and green oilers as the chain would bypass the green holes and drivelinks channel oil round the bar
  12. I would have thought its for chain tensioners on drifferent brands of saws, so instead of it just for stihl or just husky they fit both with no oiler and tensioner issues? maybe just a guess
  13. hmmm my offer seems quite high now, i withdraw my offer and the new one is a kitkat chunky but the peanut butter one?
  14. Pay a professional to do it? put a bit on top so your still making on it, job done
  15. Put fuel and oil in it and i will give you £300 and you can say thank you too lol also we told you to stick with husky
  16. my red adaptor came loose but only because i used the old velcro screw and not the new one in the dyneema kit (one is tapered the other isn't) school boy error. Im going to take a look at mine tomorrow as i dont use any rubber bits, i use a little plastic clip thing to stop the sj moving round the krab
  17. Good review i was interested to hear about these boots, shame about the lack of water resistance though
  18. Yeah i get what you mean but not all side ds are rated to be hung from so if your in a position where your tied in twice but on the front d then its a single point. This is a reason i want to try the treemotion as you can hang from the side d
  19. This quote is a bit flawed as if someone had two load bearing anchor points then the bridge is always going to be a single point of failure unless your close to the stem and using side ds
  20. Yeah thats it a real sound guy, i might add that i was the only person to get a line stuck and snapped up the tree that i had to retrieve at the end of the day, so im showing some signs of improvement lol
  21. I competed in my first isa comp this year and want to thank guys that enlightened me how much better it is having at least two setups for a throwline, treated myself a few weeks ago and its amazing how many more shots are useable with another setup by bag manipulation. Cant remember the guys name (a new zealander with dredds) but cheers for lending your kit and the useful information
  22. Good find, i cant help with the id but a contra and 090 have different pull cord casings i believe?
  23. We as an industry complain that we are underpaid for our skill level and not treated as seriously (money wise) as say plumber electricians etc. So we should surely be working to good standards of work and health and safety yet so many people are saying that this all stinks? how are we to raise the profile of true professional arborists with this attidude? Ok this guy was a gardener and the assessor could have done things differently but surely we shouldn't be supporting this guy?
  24. Probably upset too that he isn't getting jobs on his door step lol
