  1. A local agri dealer to me has an offer of a service and a sharpen for £89 which is a tad steep considering a regular user could do their service less than an hour. I know its aimed at non professionals but can see the appeal of getting in on some of the action. before anyone slates i know these would be few and far between and the OP talks about stripping down etc
  2. Nice one, handy things to keep in the landy as they take up little room
  3. Yeah its hard to take a break but after plenty of research is the thing to be doing. I kind of feel good in a way as i actually feel like a true runner in that i miss it......hmmm I think i will lay off one more and do some walking miles although feels much better i just want to be sure. I have started wearing leggins too and make the after aches feel much better. cheers for advice too guys, good luck within your training and challenges
  4. Must have given you a fight to get it off, nice lesson learned and something new to get used to
  5. I think if on the books then full days pay should be in order if they have got to the depot. I bet most tree firms give 20 days holiday and no sick pay so to ask them to take a days holiday or days unpaid then you might as well be self employed. Just my feelings having gone through a similar situation
  6. Actually says either here, pm or email so replying here is an option as asked
  7. I too would be interested regarding double braid, thanks
  8. i got an 041 and had an 051 which i sold now regret
  9. What you selling lakeyboy? i too would love an 090 one day and an 076, just love the old raw powered saws
  10. Got achilles injury too, really gutted as this is going to put me back for a pb on my half marathon. Anyone had any similar issues?
  11. Not really got any tree working ones as im generally the camera man or no one takes me picture (not that im bitter). so i have chosen the highlights of my year and thats some poleclimbing. First is a jump for the buzzer at the apf, second is after the final at apf where i came first but charlie is always giving me a run for my money (probably why he was best veteran). and third pic was trip to ireland first time on toes and placed third (im on left)
  12. Im going to sheepishly ask how its used for pruning recommendations? is it to do with branch angle?
  13. using a figure of eight backed up with a prussik in case the rescuer let go of the line would work......but what if the rope was not long enough to get them down?
  14. Started doing some more mtb riding over xmas period so would like a go at a cross country race or enduro and have a half marathon in march aiming for a 1hr45. I just want to be the fittest i have ever been so the year of challenges is ahead
  15. Nice one, i visited boston and new hampshire a few years ago, awesome country. Still got a few friends out there but cant remember where they live in NH. Where abouts are you thinking of competing? Are there many comps/shows
  16. My first ever race I used my wire core flip line....school boy error, suprisingly heavy and no grip on the barkless poles. We tend to use 8-10mm hitch cord that runs through a plastic pipe wrapped in bicycle inner tube. where the pipe ends you want vet wrap which is what vets and horseriders wrap round horses legs, this provides good grip and sticks to itself. Pipe is normally 2m long and then the hitch cord needs to be the length of your arms at full stretch so when your flipping you have enough slack in the system. hope that makes sense, if i have any photos i will post but sure flatters will explain things better
  17. Not a dig at dadio, just showing some people cant read things as well as others and use his cut in the wrong scenario
  18. some things are predictable but doesn't mean we can move quick enough [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egqZwU9Pl1Q]Guy with Chainsaw almost cuts his face off on TV - YouTube[/ame]
  19. I have done this too and dont really notice it, just gets uncomfortable when you forget and gaff the other leg on the stand up lol
  20. Im only kidding im nothing special, your list i would say is pretty much there just trying to wrack the brain of what i have seen
  21. Better get me a go pro to get on the list then lol
  22. Nice one adam, had mine out again on a large lime and my xmas present to myself is a new cam in the sj but got to wait for either dry reccie climb or working day in the new year. i dont really notice the small diameter when climbing though as mostly just quickly clip an ascender on
  23. Cheers ben, sounds like a plan. Christened today adam and think i should get a new cam as it was slipping a bit but having gone from 12mm to 11mm then a worn cam could make a big difference. Rope self tends through the pantin really well though
  24. Here is mine hope to christen the rope tomorrow
