  1. Yay, every day is a school day. Might try biffin a Mere de manage as they seem to have have a tough skin.
  2. Cheers for that. The cross section definitely rules out Doyenne d'Ete. I haven't got Robin in my ID book, so pass.
  3. Robin looks good, not one i have come across before.
  4. That is some very neat stacking, so small air spaces and you can squeeze in more logs.
  5. P.S can we see a cross section? If you haven't eaten them all.
  6. Looking at the photo, i want to say it's a Doyenne d'Ete, based on size and colour. But i'm not 100%
  7. Good to meet you Ted, even if you have left me emotionally scared buy loosing my name badge.
  8. If you get the timber out for £35 per cube you will be doing well. First thinnings is to improve the quality of the remaining crop, and improve access , not to make money. I work on an average of 30 trees per day per person for softwood (felling, snedding, and cutting to size), and 50 for hardwood. I have not decided which is quicker skidding full length , or forwarding out to size. And i pay day rate for first thinnings.
  9. Its alright i had done my morning yoga, currently my back has never felt better.
  10. You be darn right, one of the finest threads ever to grace Arb Talk.
  11. Money- check Directions- check T shirt-check See you tomorrow :sly:
  12. Water stress, it causes the tree to shed a limb(s) to reduce its water consumption ????
  13. Leave it alone it is fine. When suckers start appearing in the toilet, them it is time to do something. Beautiful tree by the way.
  14. A lunge would make things more interesting.
  15. Looking good, how much more production than man and saw ? I like the short videos on facebook.
  16. Take the starter motor off, and use jump leads to test that it is working straight from the battery. Negative clipped to the metal casing of the starter, Positive to the copper bolt on the back of the starter. This should cause the motor to spin, if you then use the positive jump lead to bridge across to the connection on the solenoid, you can test that as well. If they both work, then it is a question of fault finding between the starter button or key and the starter itself. Does that make sense ?
  17. Steady on Steve, you are spending money??
  18. I take your four drill holes, and raise you by eighteen!!
  19. Which stand will you be on ?
  20. I am heading up on Thursday, and i am not driving, so looking forward to a beer or two at lunch time.
  21. Jesus, i leave you fools alone for 5 minutes.................
  22. Sorry i quoted the wrong reply, there is not that many different types of fungi in west Wales, which is probably to do with low levels of trees historically. I had a quick look on the NBN website, and it shows no records for south Pembs, and only one for north Pembs.
