  1. I am going for a Meadow wax cap, as the size is right, and they grow in rings. Now renamed Cuphophyllus pratensis instead of Hygrocybe.

  7. Given the shortage of softwood in the next 20-30 years, why in gods earth would you want to remove your softwood ? You sound like you have a good mix, which was planted for a reason. Keep thinning and your kids will reap the benefit.
