  5. We had a guided talk through those woods about twenty years ago, and they looked good then. Although i did wonder how they were going to get the final crop out with out obliterating the remaining crop.
  6. Is that on the Devon Cornwall borders, next to some old arsenic workings?
  7. Davies in Carmarthen is the only place. https://www.daviesimplementsltd.co.uk/
  8. I am in need of a couple of people for a days reed planting in north Pembrokeshire. Abysmal working conditions, and reasonable pay. If anyone is fool enough, then give me a ring 07966 792798 Cheers then.
  9. Until you know what they are capable of, they will need paring with someone can direct them. Being keen and over enthusiastic can often put them in dangerous situations without them realising it. Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
  10. Ere you go No matter how low your stumps are, they won't be low enough. If you are not cutting racks, there is no way you will be able to pull 20 trees without seriously damaging the remaining crop. If you enjoy hard work and can think on your feet, then go for it. You won't make any money, but you should cover your costs Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
  11. Well he went and did it, but we thought it would be better as a community recycling point. Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Stop teasing with just one photo, lets see the beast in action. Or better still do a short video with the owner talking about it. Come on stop slacking Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. Comedy gold in that there statement. Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
  14. I have had a 8mm fiber core on one side of mine, that has lasted reasonable well. Provided the wire spools onto the drum tight the crushing is kept to a minimum, not always easy. I have possibly some first thinnings in a ridiculous steep valley coming up, and i am going to try joining the two lines with 100m of 12mm poly prop, as it is cheap and light for a simple push me pull me high lead. I think if you go smaller than 8mm then you will have trouble with the line dropping off the pulleys or getting wrapped around the drum guard.
  15. One is of my subbies rocked up with this, feeling very proud. My sides are still hurting form laughing. Apparently performance is greatly improved, a bit like polishing a turd. He is just working how to work out how to increase the air intake. I am waiting with bated breath to see what appears. Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. All of my subbies sign a contract which lays out who does what, and importantly that they are liable for there own tax. Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. I am sure that there is double entendre some here, but i can not work out where.
  18. Hay don't chipping in with your fancy words. You have made me go look it up, and learn something, and on a Sunday. [emoji2] Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. Arrrhhh my phone is going into meltdown..... The last photo which I have posted twice is fungi number one at a later stage. Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Ere we go, first one coprinus growing out from the bottom of one of my log stacks. But i can not decide which one. The second is Peziza vesiculosa growing on sycamore wood chip. And the third possibly a Copinus (micaceus) growing out of the same wood chip pile. Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. But with out the savage pruning it would not be there [emoji1] Sent from my D2303 using Arbtalk mobile app
