  1. Mine came from Riko, brace yourself for the price though
  2. You get alot less whip from long branched going through the chipper with the vertical rollers
  3. I have thought about poly rope, how are you finding durability? Does the small diameter rope cause problems going through the pullies
  4. We are clearing out the racks this time, and pulling out the trees in whole lengths with the Mighty Nuffield/ fransgard combo. There is two of us converting and we are rolling the larger logs out of the way. With the Nuffield and Zetor i dont need alot of room, which is good as there isn't much.
  5. 3m badley snedded chip, and 3.1m saw logs (>18cm). Averaging 3-4 logs per tree.
  6. Garden chafers eat just about any garden shrub and tree, but particularly enjoy fruit trees.
  7. I was hoping to set up a push/pull set up with my twin drum winch, but because of the narrow track and having to ofset the winch there is not enough cable to reach the top and come back down through a pully.
  8. First day of felling at Allt Tyddyn. Its been a while since i have made a Video, and as i am going to be there a while, i am going to do a vague Vlog. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdGCZXScQhI
  9. Ichneumon fly. This one is a parasite on larch wasp grubs
  10. I am based in Pembroke, give me a ring 07966 792798.
  11. Approx 250m3 of Sitka first thinnings, felling starts in a couple of weeks. Location is the back end of nowhere, on the Pembrokeshire/ Carmarthenshire boarder, west Wales, but good lorry access. Suitable for firewood, fencing, or biomass. Give me a ring if interested 07966 792798
  12. I bet you were overjoyed to discover this
  13. Oil beatle, you will only see them at this time of year.
  14. Mycelium imprints on beech bark that fell off whilst splitting.
  15. Which Zetor is that. Looks a good set up
  16. Xylaria longipes growing on a Sycamore stump Very tiny!
  17. I have given up trying to predict how much decay, because i always get it wrong. There was a similar sized oak further up the hedge with only one small oak bracket and alot less rot. But that fell over a couple of years ago. I suspect that there was another factor, but i never had the time to investigate.
  18. Pseudoinonotus dryadeus growing from all four quadrants. Nice tree shame to fell it, but overhanging the road. The felling cut went through one one of the brackets, and you can see the associated white rot behind
