  1. @ironmike are those factory fitted pipe guards between the wheels, or are they ones you have made up ?
  2. Its cracking wood, it will fly through your processor
  3. @gdh there be some timber ready
  4. Sorry to disappoint, but i have stopped eating sweet things. Have a curly worley on me.
  5. Panther cap Calocera spp Tough shanks of some sort Ameriria spp (spelt wrong) Amethyst deceiver
  6. It doesn't feel right getting the trees on the ground without a drop of sweat or any swearing.
  7. My latest humble offering. I have been off work for the last month with a mystery virus, and about all i can do is sit and edit videos.
  8. This be windblow
  9. Just offered my services and machine in the forestry workers zone, so i might be there as an alleged professional. If that doesn't come off, we will have to have a log bullet get together.
  10. And no reversing, just spin the seat
  11. I'm looking with envy at all that straight timber. Stacking small diameter willow for biomass is like trying to stuff an octopus through a letterbox.
  12. Whats the catch?
  13. Second that for Spencer tapes.
  14. What you haven't mentioned when burning is you need a mix of log types to make the most of the individual burning characteristics.
  15. First Golden scaley cap Second plums and custard And the third Hazel glove fungus
  16. Anyone free Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, either climber or groundie. Work based in Pembroke far west Wales Wages based on experience 07866 792798 May lead to additional work.
  17. Sell the surplus timber wholesale. Just be careful felling dying ash. The wood fibers are brittle, so the hinges don't hold, and the dead wood showers that rain down on you are impressive. Make sure your escape routes are clear.
  18. Don't forget the CE mark. As far as i am aware it is the only one with a CE mark, which will make your insurers happy.. Anyway i still prefer the Koller wedge, lighter and less cutting of timber to use.
  19. A bit of winch assisted felling.
  20. Do you have any ties? Sounds to me like you have an itch that needs scratching, and you are a bit bored with your current job. If you have no ties, then go for it. Go and scare yourself with big ugly trees on steep ground, with all the native fauna determined to drain every drop of your blood.
  21. I think the whole point of the video is to make you think about efficiency up the tree. I don't agree with Daniel on many points, but it does make me think about how i could do that tree more efficiently and safely. Some of those big branches were too close to the boom for my liking, and it is one of my pet hates, dealing with a massive mess on the ground. That is not an efficient use of resources.
  22. Does anyone know of a high lead winch mounted on a tractor in the Swansea area. Access is not brilliant, so the tractor needs to be less than 80hp. It is needed for about a week, on day rate, and will need about 200m of cable Give us a tinkle on 07966 792798
  23. The handle is 12" long, and folds down the length of the wedge.
