  1. Himalayan knotweed
  2. It would make the APF even more interesting, and better than moving a few wooden blocks around.
  3. I thined a block of hybrid Poplar (planted 1996) about ten years ago, and is comming up for a second and final thin next year. It is currently about 28m tall with an average dbh around 45cm. So it doesn't surprise me that you have such monster trees.
  4. Contract splitting for one of the estates. Large diameter Eucalyptus has been testing the splitter.
  5. Tilhill wales are blanket clear felling all Ash on all of there sites
  6. Come on slacker where is the lunge, those wheels are optimal height for a classic lunge
  7. Chalara does kill very effectively regrow. One of the woods that I manage that was thinned three years ago, I have found one or two ash stumps with viable regrow within the compartment.
  8. Genetically Ash is very diverse, so there will be resilient trees out there, knee jerk sanatising felling will remove these trees. But at the end of the day they are your trees, and your choice.
  9. Ooooo, you beauty. Chysolina cerealis, like dry sandy soil and feeds on wild time.
  10. It is a good investment Mike, mine is still surprising me with what it will do.
  11. I have used it a number of times to justify trees lack of suitability for TPO order.
  12. The Tempo tree assessment might help. http://www.flac.uk.com/downloads/tree-assessment-systems.html
  13. The only thing that may cause problems is sitkas ability to remain resolutely stuck to their surrounding trees, and not fall over.
  14. It is still surprising me where it will go, and what it will lift And the best bit is i can move it on a trailer with the Land Rover. So while i have been working this site, i have been able to nip off and do two other small jobs.
  15. Trundle trundle trundle. https://youtu.be/tVKaXBH5GFY
  16. @gdh yours firewood is ready for collection.
  17. Starting to get the hang of my machine, defiantly punches well above its weight. https://youtu.be/xwFl3KeihHw
  18. Only a fool would pay £60 standing. You can not make a living in forestry paying that amount, no matter how efficient or expensive or productive.
  19. This is the easy part, just a bit wet in places. The other two compartments are much steeper with very narrow access tracks.
