  1. What is the matter, and can a fool like me repair it. Bearing in mind i do not have a work shop, so it will have to be fixed in the woods.
  2. Dispite my best efforts to shift it, it is all going to become cattle bedding via a gert chipper.
  3. cheers mate, my logs are probably too far away to be of any use.
  4. That is a work of art, and has more use !
  5. sorry about my pig ignorance, but is it in the north, south, east or west of England ?
  6. I (and Mat, cheers mate) have spent the last three days extracting the unpopulars poplars. The mighty nuffield has done sterling work dispite the moist condition under wheel. Now the dry side is complete, onto the wet side oh joy.
  7. Where are you, i have 40 m3 awaiting collection
  8. Just a quick thankyou to Mat, good days work today, although you were looking tired towards the end. Hope you are not too tired tomorrow, still no 14' poles to stack.
  9. Any body free Thursday and Friday for some dull hard work cutting and stacking 14' poles of unpopular poplar. You will need NPTC units. Location is in Lawrenny, Pembrokeshire (West Wales). If it is wet which is looking likely, you will resemble morph within an hour. Can i tempt anyone ?
  10. BBC 4 have just started showing Noggin the nog. BBC iPlayer - The Saga of Noggin the Nog: Noggin and the Pie: Part 1
  11. Alright how about: Buzzard in a tree, worse day it wil be. Buzzard on a post, better day than most. Buzzard in the air, weather's turning fair. Buzzard on a nest, time to pack away you vest. Buzzard on a wire, weather's turning dire. Buzzard on a light, weather's turning shite. Buzzard on a pole, fog will roll.
  12. Something tells me that you do not like the John Deer.
  13. Thats one knarley beast, maximum respect in the head gear department.
  14. 'Thank god this oversuit is hiding just how excited i am'
  15. I have managed to get our family holiday on Ynys Mon to co-inside with that weekend, yee haa i'm going.
  16. From the way that you posed the question, i am guessing that there is a major fault with the tree, hence your course of action, i.e. crown reduction. If there is a fault, then i am guessing that it is where the main stem is kinked and the tree is growing new branches (about half way up).
  17. My tractor is insured through Lycetts
  18. At a guess, there is a problem where there is a kink in the stem and new growth is sprouting ?
  19. I have had my eye in this piece of beech for a while now. 15minute walk to get to it, which is why i had to cut the trunk i half before milling it up. The pieces are 12' long, and just about carryable on my shoulder. Well worth the effort, but my wife is not happy about the 12 planks taking up so much space.
  20. Rowan used to be used for tool handles, cog wheels, pulleys, and gun stocks
