  1. Stick to your guns and call there bluff. Surely there must be some other buyers out there that are easier to deal with ?
  2. Who needs fancy overseas wood when we have wood like that. That is a thing of beauty.
  3. good work, nice to have a view when you have finnished
  4. If i were you, i would get a part time job with an arb company in the area that you want to work in. This will then give you some free time to persue your own goals, and provide you with the experience you need to set up on your own. I think that investing in a cherry picker will turn into a bit of a white elephant. In fisteen years i have only used a cherry picker three times, and that was because the tree were too dead to climb. If your current experience is in forestry, why not invest in a tractor which will have more uses. At the moment my time is about 50/50 in the woods, and tree surgery, which means that i am not doing the same thing day in day out. Good luck what ever you decide
  5. Pass. How much do you stand to lose if you go with the buyers verdict ?
  6. Is that a solid cubic meter of timber or a cubic meter filled with logs ?
  7. This is probably a daft question, why do you want to work 400 miles away ?
  8. Looks to be some interesting timber to mill, or has it gone straight to logs
  9. That would be quite an investment to get a half decent chipper. Might be worth spending a morning phoning around the tree companies in your area to see what interest there is.
  10. 5 down, 46 laylandii to go. All have to be dismantled bar 6
  11. Hi rigger bear, credland firewood i think is the only one in west wales. He will go where the work is. His machine will cope with up to 3' diameter. Phone number: 01834 891315
  12. Do we get a prize for guessing what you want us to hold ?
  13. How do i manage that when i am stacking timber road side or splitting timber to dry ?
  14. just tried to change mine, no joy. Resized the image and made it smaller kb, still no joy. I not know why. That counts me out for any help.
  15. At 258 000 miles my td enginee finally gave up towing 2 1/4 tons of oak planking. Local land rover specialist fitted a 300tdi with new timing belt, and clutch for the grand total of £1500. Including all modifcations to the engine and engine bay.
  16. Looks good, the purists wont be happy with the orange colour though. How good is the turning circle, less or greater than an oil tanker ?
  17. Best game yet, cheers Steve
  18. Why do think that stihl bars do not have grease holes ? Because you do not need to. Once you grease a bar tip the grease forms a plug and prevents the oil getting to the bearings. No grease = plenty of oily lubrication on you end
  19. Is it supposed to be be a green /purple trippy image ?
  20. So based on what you are seeing, is the tree allowed to stay ?
  21. What can i say: Poland: Autumn by Kacper Kowalski - Images | Editorial picture agency Felix Features
  22. Good lunge, text book stuff, keep up the good work.
  23. Whats the forwarder fallen into ? By the look of the tracks the forwarder has been driving thay way before. Probably too busy downloading naughty pictures to his phone !
  24. That is the reason why i can not
  25. As long as the chimney is about a foot higher than the top of the roof you should be fine. If the chimney is not comming out near the apex of the roof, you will need at least 3 feet sticking out of the roof. If you need more then it will need extra bracing to support.
