  1. I need a local and have it surgeically removed. the finger needed holding down and pliers to pull the thorne out of the bone. I manfully passed out out at this point.
  2. Square. If the plant/ tree has come out of a round container, and goes into a round hole, the roots can sometimes not be able to break out and cause the tree to fall over. With a square hole the roots have corners to get stuck into.
  3. So far: 3 silky cuts all requiring stiches (17 in total) In all cases first aid applied in tree, self decended, and drove myself to A&E. The most painfull was stapling my middle finger tendon to the bone with a hawthorne spine. The recovery time was double the time of the silky cuts, 9 weeks
  4. Is that near the King Harry ferry ?
  5. Max respect with that yipping/ pooing 'beard'
  6. Narr, just give it a trim. The pictures have got to be of yourself, but your mate Ferguson has got a mighty fine beard.
  7. I new that there was something else. The work is in Lawrenny, Pembrokeshire.
  8. I won't be showing that reply to my wife
  9. One of the people i work for has a V8 converted to lpg. When it is working it works well. However is seams to spend alot of time in the garage to keep it working. My landy machanic say the V8 enginne does not take to the conversion very well, and dreads the regular phone calls from the owner of the above landy because of the difficulty in solving the conversion problems.
  10. Is anyone free next Thursday and Friday (3rd & 4th of November) for some Laylandii fun. I need one or two climbers, and three gimps (groundsmen) Any takers ? My phone number is 07966 792798
  11. My wife says that my beard is getting too big ! So i said that if anyone on arb talk has a bigger one then i get to keep it for a while. However if nobody has a bigger one then i have to cut it shorter. So has anyone got a bigger one ?
  12. Wize words Nod. It is not until you have had a near miss, understood what has happened, and importantly learned from it that you can speak with authority. Even then you will not fullly understand all the processes involved. Somebody famous said 'the day i stop learning is the day i die'
  13. Short of the back boiler dissolving, there is no such thing as a rayburn beyound repair. Most old rayburns need completly taking apart and re-building every 10 years or so. It is not difficult as it all bolts together, and all the seams around the fire box need sealing with fire cement to make the fire box air tight.
  14. Softwood cost the same to process as hardwood, therefore be careful about how cheap you sell it for.
  15. I think that someone has too much time on his hands.
  16. I have only used this method once ,and the rope fiber got down the side of the piston and jammed the piston. Needless to say i have not used it since. Metal piston stop is what i have used since.
  17. What is your end product ? is it to season the wood forr your kilns or is for firewood. If you are after budget firewood production then you want a setup like this: (see photo) Timber is cut to 3' lenghts and split and stacked to dry. Saw bench is used next to stack and cut to size and tossed straight into trailer. Tractor: £800 Splitter: £250 Saw bench : £50 (needed a bit of welding) Each of the above can be used seperatly for different things therfore giving better value for money. Just a thought
  18. Cundy post peelers are tried and tested Cundey Debarkers It is the devils own work, but satisfying. Sitka, larch etc are the norm for posts.
  19. Evening wildewood, my mobile number is : 07966 792798

If you give us a ring tomorrow i will sort out postage for you. Probably the easyest thing is if you work out how much the postage is, and i will post you the stamps that you need.
