  1. Some days I find thaat it doesn't wanna sit right though.
  2. Just stumbled upon these and was wondering when some one would put the concept into practice. Look brill!
  3. I heard it was Euro forest??
  4. Not sure how you guys have a bigger saw sent up? My prefered method and a system I will switch to if using a spider jack etc. Use the hitch climber and pull your line from between the hitch and pulley. Send that bight down have the groundy clip the saw to that and then they can haul it back up to you using 2:1 adavantage.
  5. That is some serious wear. Did well getting that long outta them. On a serious note though. The companies I work for wouldn't even let me on site if I had boots in that state!!
  6. No probs Jon. Does look a tidy bit of kit.
  7. Couple of places on internet Jon if you search for Tomahawk splitting maul on google. Is around the 50-55quid mark.
  8. Looked at the thread on the buzz and was mentioned that treestuff will be stocking them shortly. Maybe Bixlr did the editing/producing on the vid??
  9. I wear the base layer/moisture wicking tops from mountain warehouse. Pretty cheap and do the job. Loads better than wearing cotton.
  10. Hey Chris. Have followed this and your old thread for a while but never posted. Thought on today of all days I would. Have been in a similar situation to yours myself so I know how hard it can be. Baby steps fella, one day at a time. Takes a lot to mend those bridges we smash down. Have managed to build mine back up, hope you can manage to do the same. Enoy the day with Josie and your wife.
  11. Hiah Rob. What type of bar are you bringing over for the t540xp please?
  12. Honeybros have them.
  13. Was shocked at how many clips of people running away from dangerous work methods and situations!!
  14. Drove past a road side tree last week and could blatantly see a cabium saver still in the crotch at the top. I know it's not the same level as leaving a saw behind but still.
  15. Yup,shutdown all day long. We have had our butts kicked recently for various crews clashing lines, bringing a few down. Mainly caused by doing things live which should be SD. No line is classed as insulated by WPD. You did the right thing by refusing and as others have said the fines could have ruined things for you all had the worst happen.
  16. Hedge crossing- When an overhead line crosses over the top of a hedge. Otherwise known as a pain in the butt! Have to clear underneath and a couple of meters either side to gain the clearance WPD want.
  17. Ladders are essential bits of kit on utilities crews. Try cutting a hedge crossing without em.
  18. About as subtle as a sledgehammer! Actually made me laugh out loud. Share the sentiments exactly
  19. Maybe get a climbing lid. will hurt if ever you take a swing wearing a husky lid and slap your bonce on anything
  20. Had a pair of these trousers for nearly a year now. Cracking for summer pruning work. Very stretchy and comfatable. Seem to be wearing well too. Few little frays of the stitching but nothing major. Look the mutts nuts too Think mine took a little over a week to arrive, belive they come from Honeybros. Address is the same.
  21. Basic climbing techniques | Using a throw ball
  22. Do you mean when the device is higher than your tie in point? If you mean getting the device to slack tend when acssending then try pulling the rope more towards the device, almost like pushing it through the cam. when device is above there is not really an "easy" way. Performs the same as a hitch, just have to take it out manually.
  23. Stein cube. 12,16oz throwbags. Dynaglide line. Normally use the one hand throwing and if it's particularly tricky get the big shot out. Normally know when your gonna struggle to get a target after a couple of goes. Switch to the big shot then because there is no point getting frustrsted. Anchor hitch to tie on bags.
  24. I'll second the 550xp and the 372xp.
  25. Yes it can but you have to increase the strength/size of slings to match the weight of timber. For bigger stuff is sometimes easier to just tie a running bowline if you are not sure.
