  1. theocus....like you said theres a certain routine that they teach you.you have to back up to the trailer( which has to be a horsebox) get out have a look, see how close you are.back up again try to get it right on the ball.hand brake up.hitch it up,attach cables.then you have to walk around the trailer to check all the lights etc and all the body work is sound, number plate is the same as towing vehicle.handbrake off and drive away. theres alot of bullshit to go wit it aswell.......its exactly the same as a driving test wit feeding the hands, looking in the mirrors constantly.i found the reverse is quite easy, bit of a slalom course round a cone and back it up into a hatched area.

  12. hi was after a few ppl's opinions. am looking for a new jacket for through the winter.....am considering either the hi-flex(bit costly) or the stein evoloution. any other suggestions would be great too. main considerations tho are heat build up......need to keep me at reasonable temp not constantly trying to heat up oe cool down waterproofing....bit obvious but also how it stands up after washing build quality....needs to be able to hold up all winter.........any comments apprieciated
  13. theres lots........most of the main limbs are over a front garden and another neighbours drive way.then thrown into the mix are two pathways that the verge is next to. the tree would probaly take out a phone line aswell if it came down.......no end of problems with this tree, will get a photo nxt time im in the area

  16. hiah dude the cherry laurel has very dark brown/greyish bark, smooth textured though. develops small white flowers in the spring......red berries in the autumn.hope that helps a lil'
  17. yeah it was a new one on me when it came up.......apparently its being got something to do with the highways agency:huh: im finding it hard to remember what was actually said about the scheme. they are also running full courses like the cs 30-31 including felling and x cutting. imo tho. its a bit silly of employers running this scheme when theres the nptc which is nationally reconised......just dosent seem to make sense
  18. cheers guys, the t/o came to look at them today after i reported them.....obviously both condemed trees, due to be felled nxt week.pity they were nice trees:thumbdown:
  19. thats what i thought at first-impact damage....but dosent explain the second tree:confused1:
  20. wondering if any body has seen nething like this before??? theres two trees that are suffering the same affliction.it almost looks like the bark has burst outwards(brings back memories of the aliens films:scared1:) the first is at grond level, which i thought could of been hit with a vehicle and then the rot set in......the second changed my opinion tho. it is near enough exactly the same but at chest hieght which kinda ruled that out. close up it almost looks like there has been wood worm in there(small bore holes every where) nebody have any insight? oh the trees in question are cherries but are roughly ten miles apart
  21. hiah guys and gals. was just wondering if anybody on hear has heard of a new training format? known as CORS think it stands for chainsaw operator registry scheme... after a year of using a woodchipper our boss organised us a course.it was on this format so was just wondering if was nationally reconised and if anybody had heard of it?
  22. oh yeah before i forget.hello to everyone on here!
  23. the TO said that because of the variety of the tree that it had a tpo on it.......couldnt belive it when the TO refered to the hack artist as a tree surgeon when they knew he had been standing on a ladder.surely the TO would know better......if someone "in the know" would say something like that then how are we meant to convey a positive image to the public?
