    CS38 tips

take your time.look before you do anything.watch climbing above your anchor point, assessor may ask you a question about it if he thinks its dodgy, look and make sure its ok. learn your knots, only need to know basic ones. i imagine you know how to rescue?
  4. ha ha didnt even notice that....says it all really

  7. i would. give them the options with appropriate advice.9 times outta 10 there gonna still go with topping it. look like crap but then if its there choice then your not to blame and if you walk away then someone else will.
  8. pov1 with wide angle lens seems to be the general consencous i think dude
  9. as tree surfer said, has to be justified by RA but yep can climb in class a.i climb in class c just cuz thats what my employer wants dont find climbing in them too bad just brash dragging that is hard work.
  10. cool glad you found one that rocks your boat.theres quite a few guys on here that use em so guess youll get a lot of feedback:001_smile:
  11. good harness dude but have you tried any others? treeflex, treemotion, sequioa etc?
  12. try jonsie, always found his prices hard to beat.
  13. its an absoloute nightmare working for friends, have to treat it like any other job. the only bad thing that comes of it is when the other guy makes a mess and dosent come back. they get on the phone and ask you could you do them a ":sneaky2:favour"
  14. i havent got a lucky mascot persay but ive got a little wallet with photos in that my boy gave me for fathers day:blushing:
  15. they are going to allow us a day a month to start rescue practices...even given us a tree to do pole rescues on(spruce tucked away in woodland.)asked us to get a list together of equipment too. i dont think that they had much choice. told em i wouldnt hesitate to contact hse. that they were'nt providing adequate training. didnt feel safe in work, not having confidance that the guy on the ground could come and get me, my immediate boss was behind me. think that got em to sit up and take a bit more notice. thanks for all the advice.
  16. thought id let you all know..followed some advice and threatened to get the hse involved if they didnt change there standpoint. hate to be the one who gets labelled the trouble maker etc but imo opinion something had to change. all is well in the end:001_smile:
  17. Not sure if this has been covered before (sorry if it has.) Took a look at the new guidance notes today and the first thing that grabbed me is the cover(obviously.) More in point the amount of kit the guy was taking up with him. in my opinion a bit excessive. I take strop, cambium saver and maybe a redirect.find i can handle most things wit that. what kit do other people take up with them?
  18. hiah mate you tried midland forestry?
  19. totally agree with you mate.....the only time id be really worried that they would struggle is the pole rescue. but even trying to get them to run a refresher is a problem......am considering getting the h/s chappy involved.
  20. even that would be something but i keep getting the old "but this is the way we have always done things so why should we change" seems im saying the same things over and over
  21. cheers dude. this is something that ive really started to get a bit worried about.just trying to change things and the bosses just dont seem to want to know
  22. am trying to get them to at least put together a "rescue kit" set of spikes, couple of prussiks etc.anybody have anything similar?
  23. that would be excellent if somone would do that with us. a pole rescue would have our boys running round like headless chickens
  24. im trying to set up a regular rescue session in work, bosses are not really buying it though......any advice on the wording i should be trying so i can convince them? sorry bout the derail.
  25. the more stuff like this i hear the madder i get. hope you manage to get some of if not all your kit back. the scrotes deserve i right good shoeing:mad1:
