  1. Have you got any more pics of that job mate? Well impressive.
  2. Same as Deano. Only problem with mine is that you can't pay out cable manually, but have to crank it out which is tedious to say the least. Ideas?
  3. Couple of weeks Justin. 10 days in Northumberland means the boss of HSBC has struck me off his Christmas card list at the mo....
  4. Next item on my list. Reg Coates rates them as the most comfortable spiking boots he's ever worn (on video forum, pop rig-down), 20+ hours on spikes on one tree, so they must be good! I know Stevie rated them as soon as they came out. Chunky and comfy. Reckon Jonesie will give us a discount if we order them together Joe?
  5. Nice job that Stevie. I like my alloy hi-lifts, but tend to agree about them not lasting, and they are well overpriced. Plastics rule up the tree as well! Hope you didn't horse all that lovely log wood through your wee chipper!
  6. Mint work Reg. Horrible tree and drop zone. Great stuff by yourself and your crew. How are the Klima-Air boots stood on spikes for so long? And why did someone let a tree in that location get so damn BIG!
  7. Ditto Sanny. Minimalist, streamlined but still comfy.
  8. Check this dude out. If I buy some of these gloves from my local tool stockist, can I bin my £200 trousers, chainsaw boots and lid? Looks like free-climbing is back on the menu as well. Not sure if the crew-cut would suit me though.
  9. Will this mean a load of cheap 361's dumped on the market as the dealers try and get rid of them? Yippeeeeee!
  10. Groundie was me that time mate! If I caught anyone doing that I would probably have thrown a wobbler! 2 of us on the rope though, so I'll forgive myself....
  11. When did you work with my groundies Stevie?
  12. Totally agree Tom. But don't knock the wheelbarrow! 100KG per load x 10 is a tonne. I've barrowed out more than 10T in a day on tight access jobs! Great advice on confidently giving your price. You don't want a reputation for being the cheapest guy out there.

    slang !

MD - Mewp Dodger. Found mainly in the North West, easily recognisable by huge gonads and loads of ratchet straps hanging from harness.
  14. Great pic mate. Reminds me - where did I put my thermals and gloves? By the way, how big was the butt? Smaller HB tends to regen better IME. But there's nowt as funny as nature!
  15. Need to be 3x faster to make that pay Ed. Don't live to work. Work to live. Too many variables, none of us know the full score. We've all priced too cheap and probably had other firms thinking 'Grrrrrrrrr - how can pro's make a living with cheapo quotes like that........' Right call to walk away Brian. Next time.
  16. Bodie in Point Break. So cool. Underrated as an actor as well. RIP Patrick. Bloody hell! Whilst typing this I have just heard Keith Floyd, drunken genius TV chef has died as well. What a sad day.
  17. B***er they are sideways. That's 'cos it was still really windy!
  18. Winded off on a biggish Lombardy TD a couple of weeks ago. Rich Rule turned up first thing today and it was p***ing down. Spent an hour drinking brews and me stroking my new Armor Pruss - thanks Drew B! Went to site with an intention of staying vaguely dry and showing Rich the tree if nothing else. The Big Lad had the brush stripped by 11.15, and it was gravy after that chonking a few lumps off and flopping the stick. Plenty more brews, chat and a tidy up and an early finish all round. Had time to spare to price a big job and deliver a load of logs. Thanks a lot Rich. Happy days!
  19. Big tree Adam, nice one bro. Glad to hear the ankles have mended ok.
  20. Thanks for posting Rob. We all learn more from when it goes wrong than when it goes right. Maybe Steve could start a 'cock-up' forum? I could dig out a few.... Well done for busting that holding wood though. What a battle!
  21. :thumbup1:Impressive. Though not a patch on me outrunning the Rozzers in the Bigg Market in '89...
  22. Virtual GROUP hug! I love you guys! Stevie's comment about shouting/crying/laughing/shaking with fear etc. at computer screen was so true. I'm afraid I'm going to have to leave you all for a couple of hours and go and make some broadband tokens by dealing with some ignorant people who want some tree work doing....
  23. Where's that Billy? Two of my sites have s***e access in the winter. PM me if you like.
  24. Nice pic of me! Seriously though, I saw that audition and she was awesome. Very tough song to sing and she nailed it beautifully. She'll take some beating. Just blowing the dust off my Johnny Cash vocals until the X-factor comes to Ashford....
