  1. It's not rocket science, like you say you need to know about differant trees, % to take off but to be honest you just have to get up there and work steadly away thinking of the specs your given. read up but dont worry, its faily straight forward to be honest.
  2. I was go9ing to say that, basic day for me, standard drag, no lowering etc is 300 quid, no way would i do a day rate for 2 men for £250
  3. I have HS81r 30", a bit heavy but it can cut some stuff, a good machine very reliable and vibs are good.
  4. Are the bin men on strike dean round you? they are in Leeds and the bins round here aint been emptied this week, gonna get worse i think, if it goes on for a few weeks this sort of thing will get more common. dirty, bone idel, low life hosser!
  5. Quite agree Bob, a new set of blades for my HS81r is £113.00 plus vat from my local dealer so 12 quids worth of resin remover and a bit of WD is more than worth it.
  6. LOL am sure it would Simon, heard he's a complete mupper the seller though!
  7. Oh i know Dave, good god i was in Armley (Leeds) the other day, i know how he feels!
  8. The guys cacking himself at night! must be a bit worrying with the bears though! dont know if talking to em makes any differance.
  9. Will keep an eye out when im on me travels Jim, hope you get it back. Did ya have to push the grinder home then?
  10. Me 2 stevie, had a dead easy day, good money 2................. Still be on better money workin for Simon..........cant wait.
  11. Will you pay milage form Leeds simon?
  12. Its a good idea and has been used on motorcycles and cars for ages but with small stuff like saws, strimmers etc i cant see it working as it has to be found first, our stuff is just so easy to get rid of and hide. spend the money on security to stop em getting it in the first place is best IMO. And lets face it, the coppers aint to bothered about some guys ms200, after all its only a chainsaw!
  13. Well done for having a go, very brave (or stupid) glad your ok, your stuff aint worth your life mate, dont bother next time, check your ins policeys and use them, too many people killed for doing whats right. Hope you get sorted and get your stuff back.
  14. LOL man boobs looks like something from YMCA.
  15. It wont be cheap enough for you BOB!
  16. What sale-able product is that then? If its wood chip then its waste, people want it for next to nowt, for the money you sell it for it aint worh the hassle, i get loades of calls for chip for peoples gardens, when i say 30 quid a tipper load delivered 5 miles away they dont want it as they get smaller quantities at b&q. and it aint worth messing about with smaller quantities or less money. As for bio fuel that aint worth the hassle either IMO, 6 quid a ton with all the stipulations that they impose aint worth it. i give it away to the local horse sanctuary.
  17. The great Fred dibnah of course........................ i feel so sad now, gonna cry in my con area apps..............lol
  18. NO WE DON'T Fred has never been wrong in 60 years so stick that in ya pipe and smoke it, let the fight continue.
  19. Don't see what the problem is, i will contract chipping out on a day rate if the moneys right, infact i do to a landscape firm, they only touch small stuff so i aint bothered about competition but i make easy money chipping small connys etc. cant see what your all getting wound up about, the bloke is asking for a service because he dont want to buy/hasnt got the equiptment someone els has. If i was to pay top money cos i wanted to hire a mog and chipper for a day im sure SOMEONE would offer:001_tt2:
  20. Bousens chair, worked well for Fred.
  21. Its still protected though TPO or not You can use what ever words you want for refusal etc, yes i know your giving notice of intended works (am doing a con area job this week) but they can still stop you refusal or TPO its not relevant an NO is a NO simple.
  22. So i am right then! i didnt say they dont have to put a TPO on it did i. i said that you have to put an app in for work in a con area and if they dont respond within 6 weeks you can go ahead The council has the right to put a TPO on any tree they dont have to be in a con area.
  23. Why not do the simple thing and ring the tree officer and ask him, after all its him that makes the decisions!
