  1. Hi, just wondering if anyone can recommend a source for Forestry Commission Publications. I know they are available from the FC website but have noticed that some are out of print, unavailable or just a bit pricey so wondering if anyone out there has some suggestions. Thanks
  2. Cheers for the info guys. What about the positioning of the pruning cuts, should these always be at a growth point or do you just take off whatever you need to take off to reduce by required spec,
  3. Hello all, Im looking at doing training for CS40 Carry Out Pruning Operations in the near future and am wondering if anybody can provide some general advice. I understand it requires candidates to carry out a crown thin and crown reduction so mainly wondering what techniques/procedures I should be aware of for this type of work, in my past experience I have mainly done dismantles so not so familiar with this side of things. I have had a look at NPTC sheets and it seems like work positioning, extent of reduction/thin, species of tree are all going to be important considerations. Im interested to hear from others who do this regularly on a commercial basis about what is learned with experience and so on. Cheers
