  1. Before you go any further with this side line you, should at least take the time to find out its name.
  2. Options in or order of expense Ally board from a commercial vehicle body supplier such as service metals Most expensive but a neat tidy 1 time job Steel or galve sheet in steel framework from "DIY and rope a mate in" Not as expensive as ally but not as nice either, needs paint A couple of sheets of ply wood and make your own Will look OK for a while but will need replacing sooner
  3. Any brand worth having will have a gauge to work to
  4. Put it on a rinse and spin, comes out nearly dry

    Aspen cans

My authority are proper anal about it, I have even seen thier guys transferring stuff they don't like the look of in to the regular wheelie bin. God knows what they would do If they got a whiff of petrol

    Aspen cans

Can you put it in household recycling? Surely it's commercial waste
  7. Bracing is good for hot dip galvanising but can distort, for thinner sheet you can get things electro plated.
  8. Once upon a time all biners were interchangeable. in our LOLER enlightened ambulance chasing world not so much so.
  9. Hmmm If a connector is relegated from PPE to rigging I would say that's the wrong direction The original question was about industry best practice which would be steel three way biners with suitable tape or rope slings.
  10. You can run the return direct back to the gearbox There will be a square drive taper plug in the gearbox, have a look on the gearbox under the seat. Take it out an replace it with a bayonet fitting and Robert is your mothers brother
  11. I think industrial climbers would be better described as industrial abseilers
  12. Thanks Felix. Not quite there yet, the doctors are pleased with my recovery and are coping well with my impatience. I just want to get back to work
  13. Powder coat has trouble with sheared edges, common on most machines. The big give away will be the edges where the coat comes adrift after a while. Cold weather wont help it any. Paint and coat can be colour matched, just find a paint specialist. Cellulose can be brushed or sprayed, as can 2 pack but spray will give a better finish. The secret to good painting is better preparation.
  14. Is it paint or powder coat??
  15. Sorry, didn't mean to tread on your sensibilities, will you let me know when I can post again?
  16. Yeah I get that but what it boils down to is a refusal to sell. Its a moot point why they wont sell. If they say no, explaining to the jobsworth why he is wrong isn't going to help, just buy the fuel elsewhere
  17. Well that's a pretty stupid idea, salt is effective but not an approved substance for that purpose, glyphosate is a much better choice.:laugh1:
  18. No he isn't, but he is out by a huge amount on the quantity, if you have a thousand litres you are subject to ADR regs
  19. Its entirely up to the individual retailer if they let you fill cans or indeed sell you any fuel all
  20. Provided any useable timber is utilised the tree continues to make an environmental contribution, we need timber, we have been using and will continue to use timber since the year dot. Fell this tree or fell that tree, its still felling trees and that's not going to change any time soon. As tree surgeons, arborists, call it what you will we do some pretty orrible things to trees. Even the best job walk away from feeing good about our abilities will still be cutting bits off trees that the tree could have done without loosing.
  21. Surely its only of any real value once its been felled and milled..... Discuss
  22. Odly enough not, I was quite young at the time:laugh1:
  23. Apr 1965 Cliff Richard The Minute You're Gone
  24. OK so lets get back to basics You seem concerned with speed so lets look at the existing system and work to its optimal, without having to add oil coolers and the like You can make a system quick but maxing it out is going to leave you dealing with heat issues So what size is the ram? Look at the rams fittings, pipe bore, valve block bore among other things. These are the factors that will limit the volume of oil that the system can handle. Too much is worse than not enough So, in detail, what ya got??
  25. It wont tick the boxes because you said you want a bigger pump I leave you with the wise words of John Ruskin “It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do"
