  1. Run them off with a rattle gun but don't use it to tighten, easy to shear the thread off
  2. You could get some money back selling your weights
  3. I wonder why that is..........:laugh1:
  4. To be fair they say its a Mechanical Winch Drum which is a bit ambiguous in that it describes a component of the winch rather than the entire thing. What it doesn't say is its mechanically driven. Nice winch though but I recon your 1490 would have a panic attack if you just put that on the arms:laugh1:
  5. They were good machines, haven't any experience of the "under new management" ones
  6. Not really, a quick chip is a re badged one of those, kinda
  7. I have, well better said I have seen it predecessors Saelen bought out Tünnissen and they were re badged in the UK as Quick Chip by our friends Fletcher Stewart
  8. That rang a bell so I googled it Pocket Full of Acorns Home
  9. Whats missing? Here is a couple of links ehb electronics gmbh - messen - steuern - regeln: Chipper control Radio Remote
  10. Back when we were planting them I thought planting the trees was a worthwhile occupation in itself but the greater value is that at least one person is invested in protecting these growing trees.
  11. You make excuses for the little mog but fail to notice that the MAN is about 4 times the length and weight of the mog, that little one would fit in the cab of the MAN.
  12. About 20 years ago I was involved in a schools project, collect seed, germinate grow on and plant out. Last year I was walking the dogs where the trees are growing and a fellow dog walker was telling me how these were "his trees" because they grew them in junior school..... Nice feeling.
  13. Quality, I envy your talent How long did that take?
  14. The only thing that will stop the rope melting (glazing) is not getting it hot
  15. Get in quick before that nasty fungus ruins any more of it:laugh1:
  16. Only if I wanted to damage it
  17. How did he get around the voltage issue? USA is 110volt I brought a TV back from Germany and found it wouldn't work in the UK
  18. And if you want a top handled saw I think your chances of hiring one from the mainstream shops are minimal.
  19. I dropped one out of a tree once and that didn't fly at all well:laugh1: Seriously though, if you clean it well, it may go in the hold. Ask your airline
  20. Ohhh you do make me laugh stop it. Recently had to remove a decent sized Tillia because the LA didn't notice it, along with all the other trees on the site. They let the developer build a house 600mm from it Not all LA's are that clued up.
  21. It has been done. I have a developer client who went up against a commercial property next door to his development, the overhang from a huuuuge connie hedge was substantial. The owner was offered the chance to deal with it and didn't so the developer billed then filed SCC which they settled before judgement having taken legal advice. Clearly not a precedent but....... The hedge was removed after the houses were built and the new owners complained ad infinitum.
  22. You need to show the people in charge what he is doing and that if he ducks it up they will be liable This is from another thread on here and while its not an exact match if they are aware of what he is up to they are liable if it goes wrong Tale of two trees that cost Northern Rail almost £100,000 – Media centre - HSE You could also try going straight to the HSE with this, they prefer slam dunk on going cases and the chances of them coming running next time he breaks the saw out are remote but they may well have a word with the LA as part of an investigation
  23. I am not the greatest devotee having used several belonging to different contractors I don't like having to set it up each time you use it, I think the discharge could be nearer the towing vehicle, setting the discharge up is only a one man job once you have mastered its black art. The one thing I do find annoying is that the rollers never seem to close and often leave twigs un chipped. The turntable is good and when new it spins luuuuverly Finnish is powder coat and as always, after a while it flakes of on un fettled edges.
  24. Take it to them then. Get the health and safety people involved, show them the standards that the councils guys have to work to and let them do the rest.
