  1. I ended up dropping it with someone to have it fixed as I just didn't have the time. The valves were out, and they gave the carb a clean and adjusted it, running nicely again now, except for snapping a recoil again........
  2. Oh right solenoid was just clicking hence the new one. Im trying to remember what wires were which. Im sure its permanently live, and the black and red just operate the starter solenoid. The white on earth's it to kill it and is also connected to the oil pressure switch if it drops to low. The blue one I think was something to do with the charging circuit. KH hire were the guys that did the switch and bearings and it was a general ignition switch rather than a genuine entec/timberwolf one they might know, but hopefully someone else will R
  3. Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll have it sorted far better than I'd have ever have got round to doing to it. Will be nice to see pics. I hope it makes you as much money as it did me in the first couple of years. R
  4. Yer there's a smaller one fitted to the log splitter I use. Adjusting te valves seems like the cheapest and most desirable fault at the moment tho!
  5. Yer just seen that. My uncle lives in Worthing send it up with him at Christmas and I'll send mine down haha Just thinking I may have missed the obvious of valve adjustment since rebuilding......... I have noticed that you can get copy engines for £200 new, tempting......
  6. Wow, has this really been 4 weeks ago.......... So I've managed to get the engine back together and went out to use it today, managed to snap the pull cord (nothing major) but now the engine is seeming to be hydro locked again, oil is clean this time, Im hoping something simple............
  7. I shall be looking out for that at the weekend!
  8. I use a temporary bus stop dunno if it's legit or not without notifying them........
  9. That reminds me I need to get mine painted and sold, haven't used it in over a year now
  10. Yep all spares are still available, is it kohler engined?
  11. May aswell buy a roll and make them then!!
  12. Which school was it for? Pm me if you don't wana do it publicly wondering if it was a mate of mine?
  13. Hoping to get chance to sort it at the weekend so ill report back in due course.
  14. Rough list was 5 or so 201ts a 200 a 260, 5 or so 362s a couple of 440s 2 880s 4 or 5 back pack blowers, 3 strimmers and a hedge cutter. Serial numbers and a proper list could obviously be sorted out if there was a serious lead R
  15. Yer but how many trees can you tag in an hour, well worth paying one guy and extra hour or two than have a team of 3 driving 50 miles and spending 3 hours trying to identify trees (IMHO) R
  16. Probably not, the yard where I dump my chip/store bits got done over 2 weeks ago. Very amateur Job but they had all the time in the world by the looks of it Let me know if you here anything on the grapevine, Would be quite happy to go retrieve some stolen kit. R
  17. Yer I'm quite surprised, we have had a lot of rain I guess, I trust the guy that's had it, but equally it's not like I know exactly where it's been or what it's done......
  18. Nope air filter is bone dry, bore is indeed how I'd expect it to be, valves seem fine, time for an oil change, what oil is it in the GX390? Only place I can see that water could have got in is through the exhaust, must have just been at an unlucky angle. Im presuming if I'd knackered a piston ring the bore would be scored? Cheers guys I'll let you know how I get on, probably be the weekend though now :-( R
  19. Went out today to a grinding job with my little grinder. I'd lent to to someone I know who had had it stored outside (water relevant?) Came to start it starter cord seized solid, quickly released it was a compression lock, somehow? Took spark plug out pulled it over cleaned plug, replaced, and repeated until it eventually started. Ran for about 10mins then cutout with a load of white smoke everywhere. I assumed some water had got in hot piston, cold water cracked piston, pulled head off this eve and found it looks ok with shiny bore still. Attached a couple of piccies of the milky oil (Oil in sump is this colour to) Have I just got water in there, oil change and all will be good, or do I need to pull it apart further and check the piston rings, or any other good ideas Cheers in advance R
  20. It's all covered in cs38/39 either go out and do the recognised training for that, get someone to show you that knows or try and learn it from a book. Good luck
  21. So really a different question was being asked, the question was how do I get these trees down without damaging other trees, as others have said it will be perfectly possible to fell trees using methods without climbing them, however it will do damage. If you are not doing it for profability then you can afford to spend a lot longer in there. Sounds like a flip line with your main line tied off. R
  22. I may be completely out of order here, but from your posts looks like you could do with getting someone in with a bit more experience to show you the ropes in that particular woodland. May just be how your posts come across though R
  23. The full bill from the gas company for the new pipe..........
  24. You're fine up to 8250kg in your circumstances, ie restriction 107 on your licence You require C1+E to drive what you've got, which is a HGV test, you have grandad rights to it
