    Found it on page 3. It does not say what he was done for. I am betting it was no BE licence, not exceeding his GTW. Or the offence was over roughly 10 years ago as understanding then was different.

    Vehicles need a plate showing the maker, the ID number & the weights. The law does not saw who can make or fit that plate for class 0 & 1 trailers. Only class 2 3 & 4 which have what is known as "plating" done by the ministry class 0 & 1 do not have plating they have a plate. Different things.

    I would advise anyone reading this thread to ignore most of it as it is wrong. Based on my mate said or this happened to me but they are mixing the laws up.

    WRONG You can also drive a combination of vehicle and trailer where the total of both MAM & MLPM is 3500kg or less. That could with say a Mondeo with a MAM of 2000kg allow you to tow a trailer plated to 1500kg.

    You are confusing your self and the laws in play. Did you have a B or a BE licence?

    As long as a, you have a BE licence AND b, the real weight is under 2100kg You are legal.

    Only for licence laws. ie if you only have a B licence. For C&U offences as long as the real weight is within limits you are legal.

    No you dont to any of them. That only applied to real plated vehicles like lorries & trailers over 3500kg.

    Trailers with no plate use the combined tyre load index.

    The plated weight of the trailer does not need to be within the capacity of the car as long as the real weight is. That's a C& U reg. Re cat B licences it is done on max potential weights.

    They lost too many sales due to not having a 3500kg tow capacity. So instead of making them better they move the numbers. Vans are the same. Some (like the Transit T280) have less tow capacity than my nans zimmer frame.

    If you dont loose 10% of your customers when you put prices up, you dint put them up enough. More money from less work.

    We have all speculated on it over the past few years. Well now its a stage closer & looks like it could be happening as soon as 2020.

    We only do it with an operator. IMHO you are better with someone that knows the machine well so can max outputs.

    If getting a warranty exchange always upgrade if you can for a small fee. Then the warranty starts again.

    Be careful how you describe it. I was looking for cover for mine & because the name had FIRE in it they shit a brick & had to speak to the underwriters who also shit a brick & would not cover it for sensible money. A saw mill of the same value would be 30% of the fee. They did not understand that there was no fire, no risk of fire & that fire wood was no more a risk than sawn wood.

    You can also go outside of the radius if the start & finish are inside it but the most suitable route takes you out.
