  1. The limitation is the rear ground clearance.
  2. One pic was partially tipped rear wards for rear loading. Looking at other pics of the underside it looks capable of doing so if the rear ramp is removed.
  3. If the trailer was plated over 3500kg no. If its plated at 3500kg but had a real weight over that but as an applied load then yes.
  4. You miss understood. You would be driving it on the BE part of your licence. SO it would depend on when you got the BE. Some BE 5th wheels are 3500kg +3500kg so can be driven on any BE licence. Others are 3500kg+ >3500kg so can only be driven on a pre 19-01-2013 BE licence. When you get CE you get given BE. But it would still need to be pre 19-01-2013 if the trailer was over plated 3500kg. The real weight of the 3500kg trailer could be more due to applied load so possible that you could carry say a 3500kg digger if the trailer weighed 1000kg & the applied load was 1000kg.
  5. In a word no, if you mean one with the trailer plated to over 3500kg. Some are plated to 3500kg but are actually more as up to 1500kg becomes an applied load on the vehicle. The C cat starts at 3501kg. So if your tow vehicle is below that the CE is not the licence you would be driving on.
  6. Landrovers were rated for 3500kg on over run brakes & 4000kg on air / active brakes. Its a bit of a mute point now as only people with a BE licence pre 19-01-2013 can tow a trailer plated to over 3500kg any way.
  7. Sure it needs to be type approved now so unless he make lots of them it won't be.
  8. Thats how I ended up with one. Was going to get a tractor pto one. Then though for a few £k more I can have a trailer mounted engine one I can hire. Honestly I think too many people are doing it. Prices are too low.
  9. Cheap as chips for up to 3500kg https://www.pfjones.co.uk/tow-bars/tow-bars-for-mercedes/mercedes-sprinter-towbars/mercedes-sprinter-van-towbars/mercedes-sprinter-van-towbars-2006-onwards.html
  10. Why 5000kg? You will never get near that.
  11. North Wales No it will never pay for itself just on hire income Home owners / small businesses.
  12. We hire ours with an operator.
  13. Have you looked at bars that are available for it? What limits do they have?
  14. I recommend Svtech too. First off though you might not need it up rating. The GTW is based on real weight. So if the vehicle is not loaded to its max weight the trailer can be heavier. The makers 2000kg is a recommendation only & has no legal power beyond your warranty.

You have added a lot of things that are not actually in the regulations

Is it on a wooded plot? If so you can have a caravan for up to a season at a time. Its been to court & a "season" is defined as a period of less than one year.
  17. Less load allowance on a triple in most cases. Harder to reverse with more scrub especially on tighter turns. Easier to load/balance, less likely to over load one axle. Less load applied to the vehicle in motion (pitching & yawing) More stable at speed & less likely to snake but wants to go straight on in bends. Better brake force.
  18. 16" is to much for our machine. 14" max but much more productive at 8-12".
  19. When, how much, what sized cord?
  20. Of course its your problem. Whilst N 1 classification is sub 3500kg its registered weight is over that. Mistakes don't give you a free pass. If stopped they will look at the plate that says 3991kg and nick you if you do not have C1. They will then confirm that with the V5c data. Using the 3500kg unladen weight. If you are towing and have C1E 107 again they will nick you if its over 8250kg real weight. You would never get a trailer that weighs one tonne and can carry 10 tonnes.
  21. The 3500kg should be in section F1.
  22. GVWR 3991kg. As long as that plate is on the car with no amendment & the V5c says 3500kg UNLADEN it can not be driven on a cat B licence. You need C1 & C1E to tow with it. If towing on a pre 97 C1E 107 restriction you would be limited to about 3000kg of trailer weight dep on real weight of the vehicle. Get the V5c amended & get a new weight plate made up to match. However also get it on a weigh bridge empty so you can see what it actually weighs & if there would be any capacity left with it at 3500kg.
  23. Well I can see it.
  24. The 5th wheel on it looks bent.
  25. The word UNLADEN is in the wrong place. I would want to see the VIN / Weight plate before making comment on legality.
