Tidal.

I saw a program a few years ago where they were testing/experimenting with tidal turbines (similar set up to a wind turbine, but underwater). The testing was severely hampered at one of the locations by the presence of seals - an operative had to shut down the turbine every time a seal was seen nearby in case one got injured by the propeller... I'm all for living harmoniously with the flora and fauna around us but sometimes I think progress is hampered by overzealous environmentalists. If you ever get to travel through the Menai straits (the stretch of water separating Anglesea from the mainland) at pretty much any state of tide and experience the volume and shear power of moving water I can guarantee that you will be blown away by the incredible, unstoppable and predictable forces at work. The fact that we aren't harnessing this 100% reliable resource that surrounds us is idiocy personified IMO.
2. It would need to be a minter and original for that price IMO. If it is and you keep it that way it can only go up in value though!
3. Good trailers those - we run tracked Greenmechs on them and they are pretty much made to measure! The chippers are 1.8 tonnes (ish) and we did have a problem with snapping leaf springs though. We have uprated them to dual leaves and the problem has now gone (I think the singles flex a bit too much, then the bump stop fails, and once that has gone the spring over-stretches and eventually snaps).
4. I have just had a new Navara Tekna (top spec, all the bells and whistles etc, basically a similar version to what you are looking at) and nowhere in the owners manual or on the vehicle can I find reference to kerb weight/unladen weight. The brochure shows minimum kerb weight (with no driver but full tank of fuel) at 1998kg for this variant/spec. The V5 lists the mass in service as 2038kg (I can't imagine it is a coincidence that it sneaks in below 2040kg). I don't know what is or isn't included to give the two different figures, and don't know what the truck actually weights in reality either but will try and stick it on a weigh bridge before I fill it with all my crap and bolt a load of kit onto it!
5. That's ace Eddie! Have you been felling with it too, or just clearing pre-felled stuff?
6. Big Bandits are great, if you want something light I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Their smaller stuff isn't as good as the competition (I doubt they do anything that weighs less than 750kg to be honest).
7. Quick bump on this - we are on site next week and could do with a local home for the logs and chip if possible? Cheers all.
8. All I know is that my new Navara does at least 120...
9. He's not wearing PPE but other than that he looks like he knows what he's doing. It's his house, his tree, nobody has employed him to do the job - I can't see a problem myself. If he chooses to not wear PPE that's up to him -I personally wouldn't use a chainsaw without but we live in a free country! In fact, it looks like he's better at felling than the lads who dropped the poplar across the road in the recent thread!...
10. The 130 is usually plated 3500kg I think. With a light body it probably doesn't weigh much more than 2 tonne empty.
11. Hi - I'm looking for a tip site for woodchip in Welshpool next week if anyone wants a few loads anywhere? Probably looking at 25-30m3 of chip, all hardwood. There will also be a few tonnes of timber looking for a new home. I have a site for all of it in Oswestry but was ideally trying to find somewhere as local to the centre of Welshpool as possible. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them either on here or on 07970188050. Cheers, Dan.
12.
I might see you on Saturday then pal, I'm at a wedding on Thursday so Friday will almost definitely be a write off!!!

13. Hey up Jase - good to see you turning up on here! Now I've got another way to hassle you for information 24 hours a day!!!
14.
Hey up Jase! Are you going to be at the APF pal?

15. I've got one coming on 1st sept - never even driven one tbh but have had three D40s with no issues and have only heard good reports of the new one so thought it worth a punt (I like the look of it and the spec is great, so want to stick with what I know). I saw a ranger today that looked great with a big American style grill and massive wheels, but otherwise I reckon the nav is the best looking truck and the old one was far and away the best to drive amongst its competitors so I'm expecting the new one to be even better with coils all round. The warranty is massive so there shouldn't be any surprises that can't be resolved! Ps - I'll let you know if it's crap!
16. I've poured money into a Toyota Dyna with the Hilux d4d engine - electrical issuesarama!
17. If you look at the pics the remaining section is a big cantilever that formed the support for the bit that was pushed/slid off. It won't be going anywhere now, it is under less load than pre-collapse.
18. New model new shape brand new £19500 plus vat from Chorley Nissan. They are using an adblue set up from now on, this is one of the last without. The only downside is it's white - I could have had a black one from Bristol Street for the same money but they wouldn't give anything like as much for my part exchange.
19. I'm getting a brand new top of the range all singing all dancing Navara Tekna on 1st September for £19500 - for an extra 2.5k I know which I'd rather have (and will depreciate less fast!)...
20. If you fancy doing an extra one I'd happily buy it! Super handy bit of kit.
21. Every time I try that my dog attacks me...
