    I have the same and it’s the dog’s danglies. It is apparently identical to the 1002 internally (so same power etc), just has the bigger drive. I’d recommend getting one of these over the less torquey alternatives unless you have a specific job where you are going to be using it constantly on light work (where weight may be a consideration).

    Speak to the dealer tomorrow. Don’t in any way think that Brian James might be building trailers down to a price. Definitely don’t tell the dealer that you wish you’d done the right thing and bought an Ifor Williams instead....

    It won’t be a big issue. I’m surprised they don’t supply them with the manual override though (it adds about £60 to the pump unit).

    Try flicking the down button a few times - you should hear clicking (from the solenoid at the bottom of your pic). I reckon that is stuck open for some reason.

    Does it have a manual pump facility (pump it up with a jack handle)? Doesn’t appear to from that pic.

    I’d imagine it should be closed to operate normally via the remote control, yes.

    I’ve never stopped an Ifor tipping - have tipped 4 tonnes out of one before now... They all need a charged battery to operate properly though, that can have a big impact on lifting capacity.

    I’d imagine the solenoid that lets the oil back to tank when you close the tipper (actuated by the down button) is sticking. Does it have a manual override to close the tipper (often some sort of screw valve)? If so, make sure that is in the correct position - it won’t be a major fault I wouldn’t think.

    Is the hydraulic pump spinning or just clicking? I assume it has a remote control - is it plugged in correctly?

    All you need (in theory) is a conveyor belt and a chainsaw, and a bit of refining. Still going to end up with a lot of waste/handling though.

    Stihl have changed the shaft design now so you can’t fit the hedge cutter head on any more. Sad times - I won’t buy any more of them now (even though the new design is arguable much stronger/better!).

    Is the basket fully functional yet? Still the best arb machine I’ve ever seen (and it’s getting better!).

    How do you/they stop that Bandit filling the entire county with chip when firing into an open trailer?!

    The only time I ever torqued blades to manufacturers spec they came loose and caused a lot of damage... I always tighten them until I fart now!

    All chippers wear one side of the blades faster than the rest ime - it depends on which part of the knife is presented with material first on each pass. The knives don’t cut dead square against the anvil (it needs a lot less power to cut like scissors whereby the cut moves across the bed-knife than it would to try and force the entire knife edge through the material and across the anvil all at exactly the same time). There is a lot more to flywheel design and knife layout than laymen like us would consider. Bandit (and others) present the material at 45 degrees to the flywheel to aid cutting - my Bandit chipper only seems to wear the inner knives, even when feeding at full capacity. My Greenmech chippers wear the inner disks much faster than the outers. Whenever you replace an anvil they never have even wear - one side rounds off a lot more than the other - it’s exactly the same with blades (only faster!).

    I’ve got 3, they are pretty good. Parts are expensive, we seem to go through pads/disks quickly, and the cabs rust (under the arches and the back of the cab seem very prone). They are nowhere near as good a tow vehicle as a Daily, you will be disappointed with the power after running Ivecos. They also get hot in the cab as you are sat above the engine - get ac if you have the choice. Double cabs are a nightmare to do any major engine work on too by the way - single cabs are a piece of cake though.

    Ie - herd immunity. It’s been the plan from the start, is still the only way out at present, and isn’t as big a deal as the scaremongering press have made it out to be. I still maintain this is where the government are taking us, they are just no longer able to say so.

    I like Elvis Juice, but it gets sickly IMO. Not a great session beer, needs alternating with others I find.

    Exactly this - herd immunity is what we need (the only current way of getting through Corona in a free-market open border society). However herd immunity can’t be referred to or offered up as a mechanism for dealing with the virus due to press scaremongering and point-scoring opposition even though the actual death rate of the virus is pretty much fuck all (unless you are about to die of something else anyway).

    Infections will increase again now, and they need to if we are going to return to ‘normality’. Providing the NHS doesn’t become overwhelmed and people needing treatment aren’t turned away or selected/deselected for treatment then my thoughts are that we are getting through this as well as we possibly can.
