  1. Do people actually realise that this is wrong though? afterall its just a branch from a tree, plenty more, trees still there. . . i think its only because of us being Arbs we realise this is bad, but joe public will not understand the damage, cost, and unsightlyness of ripped branches, and i doubt people realise its vandalism, criminal damage-its a just a tree, not a window, car ect We are educated in trees, most are not Perhaps Police endorsed signage that damage to trees is unlawfull, and carrys a fine upto 20K per offence-i guess they're tpo'd afterall? might be a good start
  2. Over here its sold in 5L cans at every fuel station, 2stroke and 4stroke variants sold from a pump at the local chainsaw/garden machine shop, Able to re-use your old dunks and free to dump your old dunks
  3. Thats a line in the film 'Saving Grace' saw that last night!
  4. Agree with matty, not worth half the price tag, soaked up water like a sponge, making them super heavy, started falling appart at 5 months. i did find them comfy but overall very dissapointing
  5. How'd you figure that out Volume wise i fitted the whole of my 130 on the back of my mates 7.5tonner Weight wise my 130 pre chipbox had a load weight of circa 1.5t, a 7.5tonner double that minimum Agreed an 18tonner would possibly be better especially with a grab, but the original poster, from what i gather hasnt a HGV licence, although thats a little unclear Do you need the offroad ability or pto of the Mog?
  6. are you heading back on the same day?
  7. "i need this you need to remind me i need to do this, i need that, we need this you need to do this" Great Pics of the Game Ben! New Topgear and good old brittish beer now
  8. I brought a pram. . . . Rock n Roll
  9. They do make a Caddy 4motion, very popular here, slightly jacked up too, great van in slippery ground
  10. My manager in the UK turned up to quote a job, knocks on the door, bloke opens the door, drops down had a heart attack!
  11. think youve missread, its For new drivers, "Category BE If your trailer weighs over 750 kg and the combined trailer and towing vehicle weight is more than 3,500 kg, you’ll need to pass a further test. The trailer you tow must not be heavier than 3,500 kg. This test will be shown on your driving licence as category BE. For C1+E is if you want to A) use a sub 3.5t vehicle to tow over 3.5t, or B) if you use a plus 3.5t vehicle to tow over 750kgs (Just C1 needed to drive over 3.5t and tow under 750kg) I think!
  12. Can i have some too as im a freeloader aswell
  13. Nice one, cheers! and i might take you up on that lift offer on the friday if thats alright

  14. Yes mate, cheers for looking at it for her, shes real happy its gonna be sorted :)

  15. depends on tree species surely
  16. Your mogs and fuel lines dont like eachother do they mate? hows its big bro doing?
  17. Cheers Yes, worked well, and gave more confidence I like step cuts, as i think its easier to see the weight shifting, and a good step cut, you have time just to step down below the cut, then order the lift. Also on an Elm i crane felled, i cut straight through on a large step peice, an inch from the end ripped about 6ft up (luckily not down) if it had gond down it'd have messed with my flipline giute a bit!
  18. The 'Cooper hitch' hits Arbtalk pretty awesome hitch
  19. not exciting, but its something 6 Aspens, hanging over a building, dead tops, massive inclusions, previously leaders had fallen out, deemed unsafe to rig [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ancNpaGqTYs&feature=youtube_gdata]Crane felling 6 trees over a house - YouTube[/ame] Quite mundane for a crane job, could have gone smoother, and bigger but snappy poor condition trees, heavy leaves and new crane driver made cautious going on some. learnt a new trick though, when doing tops where i wanted the chains low on thick wood, but meaning the top would flip, i put one or two slings higher up looping the chain and thinner up-rights tight together, thus stabalising the top, but the thinner bits wer'nt taking the full weight. might be contriversial, but it worked
  20. Interesting Treequip, but why can you get props ballanced then?
  21. Insurances-public liability, employers liability, vehicle, machine, kit taxes wages-2 guys vehicle purchase cost, maintenance cost, day to day running cost chipper purchase cost, maintenance cost, consumables cost of disposing of the waste-conifers make alot + saving towards a replacement vehicle/chipper/tools when the current ones die plus the overheads of perhaps office staff, advertising, down days, breakdowns, kit thats not being used that day but still needs to be paid for-like a stumpgrinder Job risk/ballache-if theres a greenhouse under theres a higher chance of breaking glass, not worth claiming on the insurance. if theres a 300m drag uphill throgh a dog turd ridden garden, companys might not even want the work if they have plenty i last lived in the south of the uk, a 2 day job, 2 guys with close tip site would be between £900 and £1300 depending on company, give or take for a straight foward job
