  1. Your going to struggle getting your horses through the kitchen. Maybe you should take out a fence panel.
  2. Looks good Peter. I have been saying crane truck to my boss allot over the last 8 months in the hope he would buy one. He bought a Valtra and a 10 ton silage trailer so now im just saying crane to him allot. I think ultimately the tractor will be better for us. I Think your Rig looks really useful. Do you have a large capacity chip truck to go with it?
  3. Bit of a hedge day today. Thuja green empire hedge. Paper my boss gave me said trim hedge on right and reduce weight out of limbs of ash overhanging Neighbours property on Left.... What it should of said was Ash on same side of garden as hedge. When he turned up at 1.00 I had already climbed the wrong tree.
  4. Hope you are enjoying Pensylvania and pick up loads of new skills

  5. Will try to.
  6. Heres a better picture that really shows the tree
  7. Pollarded veteren Ash on the Wyle Pretty rough in my opinion. The surface roots of this tree are enormous ( 40cm +) but currently under water. I counted some of the 25 cm stems at 55 years old I think they were regrowth from when it collapsed previously. Due to recent river work that has narrowed the river to favour fish breeding the river doesn't clear as quickly as it has done in the past and the rooting are may suffer from this prolonged water logging. Hopefully the severity of the work will encourage lots of new regrowth. limbs were swung in on a lowering rope where necessary and the work produced a suprising amount of wood and chip.
  8. I would go with that theory:alien:
  9. Try approaching land agents or estate managers of any large estates near you. You should try and get a space with a concrete pad if you are going to process wood. Are there any bays in woods near you you could rent?
  10. I to made elderberry wine it was very aniseady and also gave you terrible hangovers. I didnt like it.
  11. My Granddad gave me some elderflower wine that his mate made. It was the nicest home-brew ive ever had but very strong. He lives up near Taunton so maybe its a Somerset thing.
  12. I think its a 1997 026, comes out every day but the 371 could be older Im not sure.
  13. SIP ultrafit are hard wearing, Stretchy and quite light. They are a bit tight on the legs but I think this helps keep them from getting snagged on to many things. I have worn my pair for over a year and they are still going. They have the standard SIP gaypride stitching which unfortunately does attract the occasional cottager.
  14. £100 a tree just to knock them down and break up the crown but leave it all on site would be a competitive price but I bet you would still make money.
  15. Excellent for birds. Transition towns movements are also promoting anything that provides edible fruits. Also do make nice specimen trees if left alone in the right place. I have seen them with a diameter of 16 inchs. I think its a bit ridiculous buying them in 20L pots especially if they are being planted at this time of year.
  16. I saw one of the inventors of arborbolt give a talk on instaling lightning protection in trees last year. He was a fantastic speaker and a really funny bloke.
  17. I have had my klima airs resoled twice. New vibram units and fiting was £30. Didnt have any problems with them. If you can get them resoled do it you will save your save some money and it saves another pair of boots having to be manufactured.
  18. My brother is a canoeist and im always eyeing up his waterproofs with envy.
  19. Bigger tyres on the cherry picker will also help.
  20. Any one got a manual for woodplan 4 in PDF format ? Would be a great help. The previous user has put the trees into random files Like "trees that require attention" rather than organizing the files by location. I also need to learn the correct syntax for performing searches of the data base although this will be useless until the data is sorted correctly. Any further advise on taking over a database would be much appreciated. Thanks Will
  21. Never let on you have your own equipment!!
  22. There is no waterproof jacket that will keep you dry when climbing. The water running down your neck and off the hitch down your arms. I wear waterproof trousers so my chainsaw trousers dont get heavy with the wet and try not to have to much clothing underneath the jacket so I dont sweat. Just keep moving so you keep warm.
  23. Sounds nasty hope it heals fully and quickly.
  24. I hope you didnt give the boards away for free Matty
