  1. Awesome vid, fantastic scenery but boy, did it look cold.
  2. Yet again a plogs thread makes me smile. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Reminds me of a guy that worked at Asplundh for a short period of time. I was up a tree and heard him arguing with my other groundy over the noise of the chipper. Looked down to find him lying on the chip tray pushing stuff into the hopper with his feet with the other groundy frantically trying to get him off. This was a Whisper chipper chuck and duck 9 inch. Could not believe what i was seeing. Or the local chap that clogged the little electric chipper he was using so stuck his hand in it to remove the clog without turning it off.Needless to say he is now short on fingers. Sometimes you have to wonder. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. Can we get a few tips etc to accompany the pictures?
  5. Try before you buy if you can. The wrong size will make for uncomfortable climbing. I've already broken my carbons and Distel don't do repairs, however, the local boat builder did a fantsatic patch up job so they're even stronger than before.
  6. Reckon I'd swap my 26c for a few days in that snow right now. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. Had that happen. Not funny. In fact, pretty damned scary. Any decent sized wood and I unclip the saw. A mate dislocated his knee when the 66 went with a chunk of Gum and dragged the chainsaw strop down over his knee. As someone else said; sharp saw is a must. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. Easy to cover a few things up with the correct camera angles Stephen. I'm not exactly photogenic either and as you can see, hadn't really made the effort on my day off. Yeah, two Dogues. The bitch ( the smaller of the two) was a show champion but now she's just a pet. The big fella (nicknamed Doofus) is thick as two short planks. Same with me, turner and hooch and yep, they cost a fair whack to feed although I try and keep them lean to keep the weight off the front end. As for the clean up? If I don't walk them I have to tip toe through the front garden so it pays to walk them regularly. Mind you, what they cost in food and clean up they more than make up for in protection from burglars and things that go bump in the night. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  11. [ATTACH]114029[/ATTACH A little cooler today. Around 25c-27c but not quite as humid. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Hey oxman, you have a volunteer here for a rec climb in one if these. I have a 7 day road trip from Seattle to San Francisco. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Awesome. I'm heading to the avenue of the giants late June this year and these videos have made me even more impatient. It would be fantastic to climb one of these giants but ill probably have to settle for photographing them for the moment. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Not sure if I'm talking about the same type of thing but there was a big hooha about heat pumps a few years ago in NZ being this great new thing. We're hearing on a more regular basis now that people are pulling them out again due to poor heating, massive increases in electricity costs etc. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Cost of living has risen significantly in NZ recently. My inlaws are out here at the moment and can't believe how expensive things are. Auckland is one of the most expensive cities in the world to buy a house BUT; you can live cheaply more easily than the UK if you try a little harder, you can buy a house in a nice town for a lot less than in the UK or get more house for the equivalent money and the deal clincher; the lifestyle. 18. Should have got the boss to buy a Bandit bro. That Vermeer is painful to watch
  19. I call my groundie the chipper bitch. Oh wait, that's me! A good groundie is most definitely worth their weight. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Nice to have the heavy machinery on site eh Adam? Looks a pearler of a day too. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Agreed Adam. Everything up here is brown. We're even losing some mature trees. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Finally we get some rain. The whole country is pretty much on drought alert. 150mm minimum of rain required but it's only forecast for today and tomorrow before we're back to high 20's. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Been using it since yesterday; pretty smart. Haven't tried uploading pics yet but everything else is sweet. Fast too. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. I was going to say that the soil looks awfully wet. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. Just as a thought; if you bought it from Steve at Hydralada might be worth having a word. He's usually keen to uphold the reputation of Bandit and seems like a straight up guy. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
