  1. Shows how easily it can be done. Double checked before unclipping my lanyard on a dirty sappy old man Pine dismantle to find the carabiner on my SJ gummed up hard and stuck open.
  2. Oooooo that's let a bit of light in. So that's milk and two sugars for you and bananas for the monkey. Just cut it off at ground level. Never sure why customers think I'd find that funny. Can I plug your chainsaw extension lead in for you? Can you just, while you're here, you won't charge me extra will you. The worst one was a woman who tried to barter me down on price on completion of the job because I was more expensive than the opposition. This after shed spent 10 minutes slagging off said opposition.
  3. Davey Tree are looking for guys and I'm pretty sure they can organise the paperwork if you fit the bill.
  4. I can see worse issues drawing the saw across your body like that and that's the fact that your drawing it across your harness and lines. Maybe have a crack with a saw pod as it may be easier having the saw on your leg. Personally I found having the saw on my harness means I always seem to be hunting for the sheath. The saw pod does have a few drawbacks, at least for me, but I do find it easier.
  5. I'm still not understanding how you're getting cuts on your arm when the saw is riding up on your harness. Can you start again and explain exactly what is happening. I don't know of anyone that gets cuts on there arm in this way. Maybe I'm missing something? As for the saw pods; yep I like it but the straps tend to ride up over the top of the saw sheath and then get cut when I put the saw in. Plus I find that sometimes the whole thing tends to creep around your leg and the straps creep together so you end up with the thing at a right angle to how it started. Still prefer it to an over cluttered harness though.
  6. I am rendered almost speechless with this one
  7. Sounds like tapatalk it is then. I looked at it sometime ago but was too tight to spend the money. Being a bit of an Ipad simpleton it sounds like it may be the easiest way to do it. Thanks for the heads up guys.
  8. I can't understand why people can't clear it up in advance of your arrival. I have two French Mastiffs who create an astounding amount of barker nests. My section is quite small so it's not exactly hidden. I dig a hole in a corner of the garden, drop in a dustbin with the bottom cut out and then drop the turds in to the bin along with some bio starter. Once it's full I pull out the bin, drop some top soil on the pit and grass seed on the top. The bio starter helps break it down into compost. Nothing worse than strimming through a pile of the stuff or dragging branches through it and then have it splatter everywhere when it goes through the chipper. Pure laziness not to clear it up first. Fine, you might miss the odd one here and there but I've been to a couple of places that were absolutely caked in the stuff.
  9. Not really. The picture seems to upload quite quickly and then is listed as an attachment. From there is where I get stuck. I try to "close this window" but it won't close so I can't get back to the screen that says post reply. In the end I just end up closing out altogether and reopening arbtalk.
  10. I havent even gotten as far as writing the text. Now I just want to thow the thing through the window.
  11. Cheers Rich, I'll have a crack at that. I get all the way through the uploading part but then cant close that particular window. Im sat here typing this on my PC still waiting for the window to close.
  12. Christmas day in Turangi. It was actually incredibly humid and still is.
  13. I get to the manage attachments part, then choose existing photo and upload but then I'm stuck on the upload screen. I click on close this screen but that doesn't work so I have no idea how to go from the attachments screen back to post reply, if that makes sense.
  14. Ok guys, I'm not that tech savvy and I can't figure out how to post Pictures on the forum from my iPad. I can get as far as uploading the picture as an attachment but from there I'm stuck. If anyone can break it down in old fart speak I'd be very appreciative.
  15. I was in the Territorials during the first gulf war and on standby to fly out but old stormin Norman finished the job quick smart and saved me a trip. As monkeybusiness said; a powerhouse of a man. RiP.
  16. We've gone back to the stove top. Makes a cracking Sunday wake up coffee.
  17. This is the fat mans club, did you not read the thread title. Rub it in why don't ya
  18. Im almost exactly the same, just a year older. I don't want to be a skinny ass but neither do I want the saggy man boobs. Started up the gym before christmas and have been going since including boxing day. More so that I can eat almost what I want (within reason) while losing a bit of the flab while Im at it.
  19. Black lace and Status Quo if you please Drew:001_tt2: I also find talk back radio works too.
  20. Sounds stupid but I just put my MP3 player on and sing away to myself. Seems to work on those really ugly jobs. I still get nervy on some jobs even after 20+ years but I get so in to the music I often get to the end of the limb/top of the tree etc and wonder what I was worried about. Even better if you can go out on a few rec climbs where you're not under pressure to get the job done and you can take your time and chill out a little.
  21. Couldn't agree more
  22. There is no tinsel, fairly lights or even a Christmas tree in my house this year, does that get me top spot?
  23. GIT. You'll beat me to it. I shoulda be there around mid June bro. Can't wait.
  24. Fresh beans, fresh grind and a good barista. Personally I don't think those cheaper coffee makers make a better coffee than either a plunger or a stove top espresso maker.
