  1. No its a shovel empty job, was thinking of making it a tipper more for hedge cutting season than chip or stump grindings rather than taking the rb or big trailer. Looks a good back on it and that's what I'm now thinking of fitting just as a kit truck and take the big ifor.
  2. Yeh but it was 6" too high to go into the shed and I felt running the log splitter on it was a little overkill 😜
  3. No came from local old massy dealers. http://www.qftractors.com/
  4. Standard hcb on twin cab with homemade box on top, was my 1st chip truck nd had it nearly 12years nd just keep earning me £££ works hard but gets looked after well too. Only pick I could find on my phone.
  5. It'll sit up about 120mm more i think, been mulling over putting tipping gear under my hcb but at moment quite fancy getting a quadtech body on and just running her as a gear and towing truck as looking back it's only been chipped into about 4 times in the last year.
  6. My little loader tractor filling containers with chip to go off for biomass.
  7. Last time I had to do a double line pull with the big farmi winch I ended up wrapping a Big chain around the whole but plate and fetch the cable end back to that which worked really well.
  8. Swap jobs around to something that isn't as bad to do while getting badly soaked, also depends on who's in that day nd if a job is time or hired in kit sensitive. Saying that now I have a loader tractor in the yard yesterday when it was tipping it down and cold I scooped up a load of timber nd shifted it inside to set about doing a few logs. Must be getting soft.
  9. Just changed the blades and bolts today after a few rough jobs where the blades were realy quite beat up, was feeling quite down about the state of them till I opened up the package of new 1ns and found hidden away inside a nice chocolate boost which cheered me up a bit then seeing her chip like a beast again really put a smile on my face 👍redwood 👍
  10. Come on Ian you must have some pictures to tease us with by now, how's she looking?
  11. Ooh new toy coming to play with, get some picks up when it lands.
  12. They look snotty horrible trees ham. Plenty of timber to shift!
  13. The app already has the future Mr bears. Probably ment for stealth reading in bed so the phone screen isn't as bright but really makes reading the forum on my phone easier.
  14. Youd think so wouldn't you! Main office - sorry we won't cover modified vehicles... Local office - landrover cherrypicker, no problem, what model hight size make age modifications, no problem. Nfu for yard tractor 700+ Trust/aviva 350. :-?
  15. A little dedicated off so realy not sure but the church is panicking it's going to fall, any ideas.
  16. Can you make it possible to flip the main site as well as the app from dark writing on light background to white writing on black background as this makes reading it so much easier for dyslexics like myself.
  17. With the nfu it really depends on the person at different locations as to what you get offered, 1 office said no to my cherrypicker but another said no problem and sorted it.
  18. Still hard if he's having a bad patch I guess as emotional things can be just as hard if not harder to handle and identify than physical. Diet and medicine keep him stable for the most part but things get a little complicated if he gets ill from something else which can often results in an overnight in hospital to monitor his blood ammonia levels. Now-a-days I make sure the lads are aware of a few drop onto jobs for regular clients just incase I have to dash off or don't make it in at any point so as not to loose a days work. Stroke at 48, scary ain't it!
  19. That's the problem Stephen, when it comes to my kids I don't bite my tongue and can realy let fly so am often given a good talking too by the wife before things such as parents evenings. Apparently I can be incredibly rude while still being charming and polite so they really don't know how to take it.
  20. His is life long genetic defect which effects what his body can process so we have to be very careful with his protein intake but because for the most part he's a normal 5year old which seems to make them forget his care plan and I'm getting a bit fed up with having to fight them.
  21. Had a lot of pressure at the moment, son's been into hospital again and taken a while to bounce back, school is making things difficult with him and his diet so having to fight them a bit, having to go vat registered and back date it as didn't realise I'd crossed the line, pressure to finish some ongoing contracts that the weather isn't help with but overall actually feeling quite positive at the moment that thing are going in the rite direction be it hard work doing so.
  22. Was starting to think the nfu were getting a bit on the expensive side when they quoted me 700+ for my little massy loader yard tractor for over 25 year driver with only occasional Road use incase we want it on a winching job. Especially when I pay the same for a landy cherrypicker with a twin Road and work policy and twice the value!
  23. Prep most of your records yourself which you should be doing anyway as it makes your end of year tax calculations easier and let's you know how your business is doing, submit this to your accountant who will process it and submit on your behalf, shouldn't take them long tops 2 hrs @£25 ph mine charges isn't realy that much. Add ed benefit of a good accountant doing it for you is being able to pay them a couple of hundred a year insurance so should you get an tax or vat inspection they deal with it and fight your case as it's also defending them.
