  1. Almost but probably a bit stronger so it can be used on the 5 and 8 ton machines and help lift the track to turn and help over stumps.
  2. Just worked on another site which were all that style of tag dug into the bark and applied on recommendation by the consultant on his last inspection as apparently better than nailing to the tree and definitely better for the chipper if you miss 1! Definitely cheaper to use the nails as a normal hammer will do.
  3. I've been asked to re-tag about 150 trees as part of a job working of a report as kids have snapped off the old disk type tags making identify a little harder than it should be, they want to go for plastic type tags this time so just asking if I need to get the purpose made hammer for them or any other alternatives are advised, looked at what treekit and landmark trading have available but very different prices, advice appreciated.
  4. It's a 7.5 tonner so probably no worse than a normal transit payload 😜
  5. Might not be too bad if you had a decent Street tree statutory clearance contract or clearing Street lights
  6. Pressure assist Is a ram on the side of the top feed rolers that pulls it down to increase the pressure and grip on the brash, can also be used to lift the top feed to help get stuff in in the first place. If you haven't got it you can sometimes put the grab on top of the top feed and give it a little push down to get past a bad fork or just to regain a bit of grip. Get some pictures up of your setup nd keep us posted how you get on.
  7. Yes it is! Brilliant concept but just not quite rite 😉 if only it was 4x4 Keep looking johny nd hopefully you'll find me my dream machine eventually 👍
  8. I'd quite like something a bit like the 3rd leg setup you have for your mulcher head but with the grab on the end instead so could tilt it back and have something solid to help turn or aid pulling up slopes, bit like this American style end, if done nicely could also help carry logs lengthways by wedging 1 end under the foot
  9. Kids TV theme tunes are lethal and so very annoying especially if it's something like my little pony
  10. https://youtu.be/FE0XcdM22Yo Had this today for some reason, not good when you have com's on nd everyone else has to suffer it too!
  11. Got a link to that Paul? Sorry to derail the truck thred by the way😇
  12. That I'd like to see some more pictures of, just love those chippers but not on stringy willow if it's a little dull. Is it a Home brew job? Just looked at picture again and can now spot engine mounted next to the chamber on far side, neet.
  13. It's doing well for a 4 potter 👍 Yeh they just chew away continuesly till its gon and better with the chip discharge being continuous as tents not to go everywhere like a regular chipper that's on off all the time.
  14. She's brilliant, could sometimes do with a bit more outreach but won't matter what you have it will always be the same but at least it can off-road to get closer and has the benefit of still having 3.5ton tow capacity to take the chip trailer or chipper to site.
  15. Is that a road tow hydraulic driven 10" farmi chipper? Wow never seen 1 set up like that before on a trailer. Fantastic pto machine and used a few different variations but never 1 on a trailer, what's it like?
  16. For once I was on the ground working the brash rat duties today as got to keep trim else I could overload the bucket 😉 Having a big drop zone helps just a bit steady to start with getting rid of the branches over the road half of which were dead and nicely shattered on contact with the ground!
  17. What hp are you running Tom? Very nicely set up unit! Never the fastest chippers on the market but once they have hold its going in weather it wants too or not! Do you have the pressurised top roller option on that 1 as well.
  18. Almost bud, definitely worth having being able to speed things up and make them safer, it changes how you look at jobs and how you go about taking a tree apart but once you are aware of how to get the best out of the boom it's so easy to use.
  19. Nice roadside ash dismantle today made easier by having lots of space behind and plenty of kit on site, on site at 10 all down and loaded by 12.30 and on the the next section of the site, she was ment to be a yard tractor but the little massy did herself proud loading the timber which saved a whole bunch of cutting up. 👍
  20. Use a similar technique with a stump cut a little high if we are working a section of woodland for a while. Dig the dogs into the stump also helps hold it steady.
  21. Why use blood pressure when you can use hydraulic pressure 😉
  22. This 1 just about manages but if all I was doing was feeding the chipper I'd go smaller as I reckon if I had a mental fart and opened it inside the hopper I could rip the thing clean off, personally for what you want I'd give Billy a call at Rico tockwith nd get 1 of those little grabs they got ment for 1.5tonners.
  23. Yes small plunger at bottom which seems to be what is actually sticking, just been trying to get it to move freely again but each time I push it down with an Allen key it sticks down and requires a tap on the end of the shaft a few times to get it to shift again. Put a bit of duck oil in to hopefully work into it and allow it to move again. Time to go home nd find some tea and see what it's like in the morning. Thanks for your help 👍
  24. Fantastic plan which in the long run you won't regret, iv seen a few budget mog projects fail simply because of trying to do it on the cheep rather than properly.
  25. Good update, nice to have plenty on but frustrating when a project is slowed down by having to actually work, all helps pay for it though
