  1. Safety incase of snapping as limited recoil and risk if injury is anything go's wrong. I don't mind as many other benefits as lighter to dragging it around and easy to splice if it gets snapped or damaged.
  2. Now that's a good plan! Never considered that as an option, easy to position exactly where needed and alter angle of pull mid way if needed. I'd love to be able to afford a hydraulic chain winch as can really see the benefits of it but not sure what some of our clients would say as speck synthetic winch lines only on some jobs (luckily not this 1) so all the front mounts on the vehicles have plasma line fitted now.
  3. It's an option I'm looking at and that'd mean that the winch would be on all the time for self recovery when I next get stuck. Could easily put a remote control solenoid valve in it as well.
  4. That's a real nice long version for a headphone chill. These are two of my go too tunes for a late night switch of sessions with beer in hand.
  5. Took a while but found the pictures of his set up. Looks good, bit more advanced than I want but the same principle to be able to reach over crash barriers to winch up.
  6. Live they can really take it up a notch, had so much fun at a few gigs with them and taking back Sunday, still want to get to see the gas light anthem live.
  7. Might like some of these guy's stuff then
  8. That's a cool sound, like it.
  9. Cracking little set up! 👍
  10. Yeh my quadchip did the same. Chipper poo 😜 Loved that little chipper and I do miss the turntable on some jobs, just wish they did a 8" version.
  11. Tonights job Lighting the Richmond beacon for the Queens birthday. Found standing on the truck was easier to feed it than ladders.
  12. Ok so would need a pump at back end nd piped to front to turn the pto, hmm was hoping to run from where a muck grab etc would plug into. Save having to take trailer on nd off and be able to reach over a roadside crash barrier for a job I've got to do.
  13. Nobody?
  14. What exactly is it, any links to more information?
  15. I've got an idea to get a 2nd hand pto forestry winch and make up a linkage adapter so I can carry it on the front loader of my massy, originally this was just a transport solution to get it to and from site if I had 1 of the trailers on the back but then I started to wounder if there is a way of fitting a hydraulic motor onto the pto shaft and plug it into the extra service in the loader to be able to run it. Anyone done similar or any advice on if it's feasible or what type/size motor I'll need nd if anyone makes an easy on off collar for 1 similar to the pump on the botex trailer.
  16. Yeh it's a real pain when 1 go's and dumps 20lts of oil all over a clients lawn and kills a big patch of grass that you then have to have re turfed then the client complains that the turf is better than the rest of the lawn and needs cutting twice as often so wants discount off next year's work.... Apparently :-S
  17. Seen similar, almost wanted to stick around and see the outcome but had stuff to do.
  18. Is it spair tomorrow, got a magnolia to reduce in the morning 😉 Compared to some of his other toys 35k is quite reasonable for what it can do!
  19. He's a good hand with that machine is that lad, seen him in action a few times, are they coming back to whole tree chip as well?
  20. I get 10% on more than 6 cans, normally get 12 at a time. Some weeks I can do 3k worth of work on 1 can, others a can a day for £300 but not had a problem with a saw for 2 years of running on it nd just makes life easier being grab and go with it.
  21. Not to my liking but try treekit as they sell a lot of the Pfanner stuff and might be able to get it easy enough for you, might look better in a darker colour.
  22. Not sure I'd want a dark lid on if I was doing ground work under climber's as it's easier to not be seen and hit, saying that they do look smart.
  23. Fred using fire to burn out the props, proper job indeed! No way would you get away with that now, all those tires on fire and people doing what they are told and staying back without needing 50 police to keep em back.
  24. That's an impressive reach! I'd guess the wee log it's lifting in the picture is going to be about his max in that position...?.... Whenever I've used cranes I've found k booms so much better than cable type cranes as closer to the boom so less swinging about and tend to be remote control so operator has a much better view and as said the wagon can haul stuff away at the end of the day.
  25. Don't think so. 5.8ltr normally aspirated 6 pot Perkins engine, around 100hp I believe.
