  1. Keeping the rb now, good decision Youd regret getting rid when that off road job came in.
  2. Just have kids and never see your ipad again you mean..
  3. Apparently large file's make for high quality knife making steel
  4. Two from this week's finds, long left chain slowly strangling a sycamore and a badly placed fire doing some serious damage
  5. Just got 1 of those last week and seems good so far and definitely less messy than normal, only downfall is it is a bit big to fit into prop shaft uj's unless it's tilted open a bit especially on the landys ones.
  6. Pivot steer is slightly more unstable on side slopes but only when turning as the centre of gravity shifts as you turn. Wider tires and practice and experience can overcome this. Not heard about them causing more ruts than conventional steer machines but others with more experience on wetter ground might be better to advise on this.
  7. Bit of a head scratch sorting 2 fallen trees today massive root plates on a steep bank. Held them back with the winch till the timber was cut of then let the go down the bank trying not to block the footpath. Slightly overload the kabota fetch the timber out and winched 1 stem out with the truck.
  8. Megger machines with eye watering price tag's, something I've always wanted to have a go with to realy see what a capable machine feels like to operate.
  9. Beautiful! That'll serve someone well for sure
  10. Found this video, looks good for sensitive sites. Dread to think how much it'll cost.
  11. Not as bad as new clutch, duel mass conversation, front brakes and a few little odd N sods on landy cherrypicker which is going to hurt in the region of 1500 but at least she drives and stops a lot better and was out working and earning again today.
  12. No its towards gross train weight but applies some nose weight onto the towball which inturn increases your rear axle weight. Quite often with a landy tipper you are OK on gvw but over on the rear axel because of the way the load is positioned over and behind it especially with tool lockers pushing it back further. I know this is definitely the case with my 130twin cab.
  13. Sorry can't answer your question as years since I've had to use this sort of calculation but out of interest how come your getting involved with objecting to a application? I'm not saying your wrong and mind your own business like we often hear on here. Also if I started quoting helliwell to the local council they wouldn't have a clue what I was going on about.
  14. Watched a heap of videos on them and makes me want to have another go at srt as didn't quite click with the wrench setup.
  15. You know what they say.. Give a lazy man a difficult job nd he'll find a easier way of doing it 😜 Forst chomped it really well, had it set to 6 to wip it in and bust any forks, was a delicate operation feeding some of the longer bits with the crane and such a big grab, sort of place them into hopper back out and just nudge them in, far less painful than by hand as seemed to be a particular spiky verity. I'm used to a gob like this for it! Got a happily content 8 year old daughter tonight sitting getting thorns out my arms and shoulders with a pair of needle tweases, less painful than letting the wife do it!
  16. Got it finished just within time apart from 1 bush where we did actually find a nest, a very vigilant cutter was the best hope they had as was actually quite open once inside so easy to spot any nests.
  17. Was so proud of the finished job I couldn't even bring myself to take a picture 😭 Looked piggin awful but it's what was wanted to give the new vans a view of all the other vans, glad the chip was blown back under as it hid a lot of sins on the ground.
  18. Thorn hell for a few days, topping this hedge on a steep bank, valtra was a big help being able to reach 80% and lay them out for chipping, bottom bit tractor couldn't reach resulted in lots of cussing and bleeding trying to avoid hitting the vans with 20ft thorn tops. New com defenders made life more comfortable than a helmet when in tractor and avoided miscommunication with poor ben who was cutting
  19. Wife was in looking out the window and delivery driver pulls up writes something got out van walked up to house with the sorry you weren't in note and stuffed it into letter box, wife opens door as he was getting into van nd he just waved and drove off. I called and complained which was a waste of time but got it delivered the next day ok.
  20. Almost makes me look forward to a cold winter again
  21. Nice👍
  22. Just spotted the other thred nd see what it's about. Fantastic work.
  23. Conveyer ain't attached when they come in to the country, palax definitely won't go into a container easily.. Think best set up is decent splitter and circular saw and a willing volunteer to operate them.
  24. You going for a bigger grinder to cope with the (hopefully) extra workload because swinging that old rako all day every day will kill your back nd hips.
  25. Strange subject to carve, what's the story behind it?
